Children are at the centre of safe school and community environment for their wellbeing. Empowering students is a core activity in Ngara where we are implementing a program aiming at keeping children in schools until completion rather drop out and go to town for domestic work where they get abused and denied of the rights quality education being one of them. They now know their rights and demand them, they are at school attending classes, they are ambassadors for their rights to quality education and child trafficking. This is done through school clubs we have formed in 20 schools in 3 wards.
With your help and support we can reach many more children in other wards. You can contact us through: [email protected] or call us at: 0789 622 227
Thank you

SUCCESS INGREDIENTS: Many people (including you) desire and profess to be successful in life and in all what they are doing. They have vision; they can clearly express what they are here on earth for.

While being clear with what you are to do is critically important, however, you need these things to fuel your vision fulfillment;

1. HARD-WORK
Don't believe in luck, believe in hard work. Work hard!
Stop trying to rush the process or searching for a shortcut.
There is none. No shortcut in life! No shortcut in success.
Shortcut always short-circuits!

2. PATIENCE
If you are losing patience, you are losing the battle.
First nothing happens, and then it happens slowly and suddenly all at once.
Most people give up at stage one.

3. SACRIFICE
If you don't sacrifice for what you want, then what you want becomes the sacrifice.
Everything has its price. The question is: Are you ready to pay it for the life you desire?
You will be willing and be able to pay the price accordingly!

4. CONSISTENCY
Consistency is what transforms average into excellence.
While courage is very important when starting something worth; consistency is also important.
Without consistency, you will never finish and achieve greater success!

5. DISCIPLINE
Brian Tracy says, “discipline is doing what you are supposed to do even if you don’t want.”
You feel not reading but still read that book. You feel not write an article but still write. You feel not exercising but you still do it because you know what will happen to you if you do (or you don’t do it)!
There will be days when you don't “feel” like doing it. You have to push through those days regardless of how you feel.
Motivation gets you going, but discipline keeps you growing (keeps you in the game)!

6. SELF-CONFIDENCE
Confidence is, "I'll be fine if they don't like me." Love for yourself is important. Greater achievers have high level of self-confidence. This helps them to move on with their vision despite what others look at them or how difficult situation seems to be.

7. FOCUS
This is very important for your great success in your vision. It is what brings brand, then trust then money! It is focusing at one thing until it is over. Focus speeds up in your success unlike unfocused people.
One said FOCUS is “Follow One Course Until Succeeds”. You are not to jump from one opportunity to another that you meet. You just concentrate on one thing. You put all your resources into that only. Then what happens? You will succeed!

These are some ingredients. Apply them now and see what will happen to you!

Be more. Do more!

In a bid to create safe school and community environment for children in Ngara district, youth is one of the important groups participating in the program. EDFO has been empowering them in order to be productive in their communities while protecting the violence against children. These are ones of the youths we are empowering through vocational training program. We have identified them and now ready to start a training on motorcycle repair and maintenance in Rulenge ward. After training they will be attached to some garages for more mentoring thereafter they will have their own garages.
Through your help and support we can reach many unemployed youths in Ngara district whose impact will be reduced rates of crime especially abuses against children. You can contact us through: [email protected] or call us at: 0789 622 227
Thank you!

EDFO has made sure that, after program's time expires community members will continue with the program to ensure its sustainability. To achieve this, EDFO empowers program participants (community members) to take their full responsibility in leading their lives collaboratively.
These are some groups' members who are working on their chosen joint productive projects in the program area (Ngara district).
To replicate this to other areas, you can support us. Contact us through: [email protected] or call us at: 0789 622 227
Thank you!

Great work! Changing lives! Inspiring testimonials!!

“Before participating in the parenting program, there was very little connection within our family. My husband, our children, and I did not spend meaningful time together, and our home lacked a sense of unity.
After attending the training, I gained valuable knowledge that transformed my perspective on parenting and family relationships. I later encouraged my husband to join the sessions, and he also learned important principles of positive parenting.
Since then, we have made intentional changes in our daily lives. We now share meals together, communicate more openly and support one another as a family. Our home is happier, more peaceful, and filled with a renewed sense of togetherness.
This program has truly strengthened our family, and we are very grateful for the positive impact it has made in our lives.”
- Bibiana Bigabo (Parent, Muyenzi village).

“Through this program, I have experienced meaningful personal and family transformation. I have learned the importance of transparency, communication, and shared decision-making within my household. Previously, I managed income from our harvests independently, without involving my wife. Today, we openly discuss our earnings, plan together, and make joint decisions that have strengthened our family.
As a result, we have expanded our farming activities and improved our livelihood. I am proud to say that I am now a more responsible and supportive husband, and I serve as a positive example within my family and community.”
- Faustine Rungarunga (CBF of the Kibirizi parenting group).

“Participating in this program has significantly transformed my perspective and practice as a teacher. I have gained valuable knowledge on how to love, respect, protect, and support every child in the classroom. Previously, I did not fully recognize the impact of my behavior, particularly toward children from disadvantaged backgrounds. Today, I treat every child as unique and deserving of dignity, care, and equal access to quality education, regardless of their circumstances. This program has truly changed me for the better.”
- Samweli Macheyo (Focal teacher, Murugaragara primary school).

“Coming from a military background, I previously relied heavily on corporal punishment in my role as a teacher, as it was the only disciplinary approach I knew. However, through my participation in this program, I gained a deeper understanding of the negative impact such practices have on children.
Today, I have adopted positive discipline and child-friendly approaches in my classroom. This transformation has not only improved my relationship with my pupils but has also created a more supportive and respectful learning environment. My pupils now feel valued and cared for, and I, in turn, have developed a deeper appreciation and commitment to their well-being.”
- Amos Stanslaus (Headteacher, Kamugamba primary school).

Every child deserves a school close to home: Support Igabiro community build a future through education
Igabiro Village, located along the shores of Lake Victoria in Kaagya Ward, Bukoba rural district council, Kagera region, Tanzania, has faced a serious education challenge for many years- the lack of a nearby permanent school.
For years, children from this community have been forced to walk approximately 14 kilometers every day to attend school. This long and exhausting journey has affected their ability to learn, contributed to absenteeism and school dropout and prevented some children from accessing education altogether. The nearby school has also become overcrowded due to the increasing number of learners. In response to this challenge, finally, the government and community members have managed to construct three classrooms to serve nursery school and standard one and two pupils. However, this is far from enough. The school currently serves more than 320 children, and the number is expected to continue increasing as more children enroll.
Meanwhile, pupils in standard three to standard seven are still walking long distances every day, facing fatigue, safety risks and barriers that affect their academic progress. Because of the limited infrastructure and facilities, the school remains an annex/temporary school and cannot yet be officially registered. It currently depends on support from a neighboring school, while the government has provided only one teacher responsible for more than 320 children and other school responsibilities.
Recently, EDFO visited Igabiro village and engaged with local leaders, parents, community members, and pupils. The message from the community was clear:
“Our children need their own school - a safe place where they can learn, grow and build a better future.”
To make this dream a reality, the community needs support to construct a complete primary school infrastructure, including:
✅ At least 14 classrooms for pre-primary and primary education
✅ Teachers’ offices
✅ Teachers’ house (two in one)
✅ Toilets and sanitation facilities
✅ Desks, chairs and essential learning facilities!
With this support, the school will become a fully established and registered institution, enabling the government to provide adequate teachers and teaching materials for quality education.
EDFO is calling upon development partners, donors, foundations, organizations and individuals passionate about education to join hands with us in ending the daily struggle faced by these children and creating a brighter future through education.
Together, we can bring a school closer to children - and bring children closer to their dreams!!
