✨️Last week, we visited Moshono and Wema schools to establish Empowerment Clubs aimed at uniting students and educating them about menstrual health and life skills.

These clubs consist of around 80 students from grades 5, 6, and 7. It was a surreal experience to see the students' happiness as they interacted and shared their excitement about the formation of these clubs.

We hope these clubs will foster healthy discussions on menstrual health and other important topics among both girls and boys.

☀️ Since December 2023, SASA Foundation and partners have been conducting workshops alongside many incredible teachers on menstrual and reproductive health at Moshono Primary School for girls in standard 6 and 7.

Throughout these months, the girls have participated in activities, shared their experiences, supported each other, and broken down barriers and stigma surrounding the female body. These workshops took a youth-led and solution-oriented approach, empowering girls to use their acquired knowledge to become leaders in their community ❤️⭐️

As we wrap up workshops for this school year, we want to give a heartfelt thank you to Moshono School for their collaboration in menstrual health education, and to Jacqueline, Agnes, and Anna for designing and facilitating an open and inclusive environment for these important and empowering trainings! Your commitment and hard work is so admirable and appreciated!

📣 Going forward, Moshono Primary School will continue facilitating reproductive health workshops with the inclusion of both female and male students, hoping to inspire the most empowered and supportive school environment possible! 💪🏾

The workshops conducted at primary and secondary schools serve as an important platform for engaging with boys and girls in our community ☀️

These workshops not only enhance the confidence of girls but also inspire boys to become powerful allies in advancing gender equality. They foster positive interactions and collaborations between boys and girls, contributing to an inclusive and equitable society 📣

Expanding these workshops to more schools is an important step towards supporting and empowering more girls to emerge as confident and resilient leaders in our community! ❤️💪🏾

☀️ The provision of daycare facilities is important for Tanzanian women to work because they provide essential support for balancing work and family responsibilities.

SASA operates the Moshono daycare and collaborates with a network of 13 other daycare facilities through women’s groups in Tanzania.

We hope that the expansion of daycares can promote economic empowerment, reduce gender inequality, as well as foster children’s development and wellbeing in a safe and nurturing environment, ultimately contributing to the social and economic advancement of Tanzanian communities ❤️🙌🏾

Introducing Wema, a dedicated entrepreneur from Kilimanjaro, making significant progress in the “mitumba” industry in Arusha ☀️❤️

Through her fully online store, she showcases a unique approach to selling her goods, connecting with customers through social media and networking.

While this method offers the advantage of low overhead costs, it also presents challenges for expanding her business. Wema dreams of one day opening a physical store to increase foot traffic and expand her reach 🛍

The SASA Foundation’s Micro Financing and Skills Training Programs play a crucial role in providing the necessary guidance and resources for Wema’s entrepreneurial journey.

Join us in celebrating and supporting female entrepreneurs! Through initiatives like microfinancing and skills training, we uplift and support local businesses, empowering women and fostering economic empowerment and community development. Together, we can make a difference! 📣🌱

Today, we are highlighting SASA’s women-led microfinancing program and its profound impact on communities in Tanzania 📣

SASA facilitates a network of empowered female entrepreneurs who manage their own banking system 💪🏾

☀️🌱 This system provides microloans and resources, enabling women to launch or expand businesses, while also offering vocational skills training to enhance their entrepreneurial skills.

Through this multifaceted intervention, we aim to break gender-based barriers to economic inclusion, empowering women to emerge as successful leaders and entrepreneurs in their communities! ⭐️❤️

Celebrating Women’s Labor on International Workers’ Day 📣

As the world commemorates International Workers’ Day today, it is crucial to acknowledge that this day is for every woman who contributes to the workforce ☀️

However, we recognize that many Tanzanian women may not identify themselves as “workers.”

To every woman selling goods on the streets, tailoring clothes, managing households, caring for children and their community, or running businesses - this day is for you too.

You are workers, and your labour deserves recognition and respect!

Let us unite in solidarity to honour and celebrate women’s invaluable work, achievements, and contributions to families, communities, the economy, and Tanzania as a whole.

Happy International Workers’ Day to every woman doing amazing work out there! ✊🏽❤️
