Learning the stories of the patients we care for, meeting the like-minded people who love being part of these trips, and being a small part of someone’s journey to mobility.

What does the opportunity to give back mean to you?
Helping people from all backgrounds and putting the skills I’ve trained for to use in making their lives better. Service in joint replacement is essential to making even a small dent in the need that exists around the world.

Favorite Hobby: As far as hobbies go, “a garden/nature and a library” are all I need year-round. 

What are you most looking forward to on our medical mission?
This trip to Panama obviously has something in common with any other trips I’ve been on: patients with chronic knee joint PAIN. Pain stands in the way of many, and I know that what stands in the way becomes the way. It’s therefore heroic to join these patients in dealing with this burden. So, I can’t wait to go to Panama!

What does the opportunity to give back mean to you?
I don’t know! 🤷🏾‍♂️ Giving back has always been a serendipitous endeavor. I gain more than I pour out. From impacting “strangers” lives to cultural enlightenment at a soul level, and anything in between.

 To being back with the most amazing team while we give people their freedom back to participate in all of the wonderful things they have been missing out in life.   The smile on patient’s faces when they walk better than they thought was possible. 

What does it mean to me:
It means that I can try and make the World a slightly better place using my skills while bridging culture and language barriers.

What are you most looking forward to on our medical mission? Reconnecting with an amazing group of female surgeons (and the larger team that makes it all happen!) and having the opportunity to care for a new community of patients. 

What does the opportunity to give back mean to you?  It is an absolute privilege to be able to travel and bring additional surgical care to patients that otherwise may not have access, or may wait a  long time for it.  I learn so much on these types of trips— from the patients themselves, from the local hospital teams, and from my fellow surgeons.

What are you most looking forward to on our medical mission?
I’m most looking forward to seeing such a great organization in action, while getting to be a part of it. Doing what we do for work every day is positively changing patients’ lives for the better. Getting to serve those that don’t have the access to great healthcare like we do every day is another level of that. Beyond providing care to the patients, I’m looking forward to learning, listening, and building relationships with new people. 

What does the opportunity to give back mean to you?
To me, the opportunity to give back means being able to use what I’ve been given, being education and experience, to make a positive change to someone else’s life in need. I’m very fortunate to have the experiences I do, being with Zimmer Biomet for 14 years, and it’s amazing to be a part of a company that is constantly thinking of the patient.
