Jaribu Orphans Charity (JOC) is a non – profit organization with the intent or rescuing and caring for orphaned children meeting their needs spiritually, physically and emotionally. We provide orphaned and vulnerable children with a family home to live in together we support them through their Nursery, Primary and Secondary Education. In June 29, 2011, Jaribu Orphans charity officially registered as a Non-Governmental organization (NGO) with registered number 00NGO/00004725 under S 12 (2) 24 of 2002, Act. The Non-Governmental organizations Act Parliamentary Act 24 of 2002. This home is a long term commitment and we are excited to see these children grow into the exceptional adults we know they have the potential to become. Jaribu Orphanage Center is entirely supported by sponsors and donations from around the world. The organization is governed by a board of directors and managed by a Chief executive officer (CEO), Advisory board and 6 members’ staff to carry out day – to day program activities. There are ZERO administrative costs. The only paid staff are the hard working Tanzanians who work in the home. Currently, according to UNCICEF and the Tanzania National Bureau of statistics (TNBS), there are 150 million Orphans globally. Every day 5,860 more Children become orphans. There are 450,000 orphans and 80,000 child slaves in Tanzania. The median age in Tanzania is 18 years, meaning more than 50% of the population is children are without parents. Jaribu or Orphanage center exists to answer the need for orphan rescue and care in Tanzania. Jaribu orphans charity is located in a small village called JARIBU MPAKANI, In Rufiji district in the PWANI REGION, about 70 Kms from the capital DAR ES SALAAM CITY. We currently care for over 40 amazing children in the home with the plan to increase more children in the future 15 children attend a boarding school and stay at the orphanage during the holiday.
