🌸💖 Happy Mother’s Day 2026 💖🌸

Today, we honor the strength, sacrifice, wisdom, and love of mothers everywhere, especially Indigenous mothers who continue to nurture families, preserve culture, and strengthen communities across generations.

Mothers are caregivers, teachers, protectors, and leaders. Their resilience shapes the future and their voices deserve to be heard, respected, and empowered.

At IWDA, we celebrate women whose leadership begins at home and extends into communities, advocacy, and social change.

To every mother and mother figure:
Thank you for your courage, care, and endless dedication. 🌍✨

Happy Mother’s Day from IWDA.

✊🌍 International Workers’ Day 🌍✊

Today, we recognize the dignity, strength, and contribution of workers everywhere, especially those whose voices are often unheard.

At IWDA, we stand with Indigenous women and communities whose labor sustains families, preserves cultures, and protects our environment. Yet many continue to face inequality, limited opportunities, and lack of protection.

Fair work is a right.Dignity is non-negotiable.Equality must be realized.

Let us continue to advocate for safe working conditions, equal opportunities, and respect for all workers.

🚨 Conservation must never come at the expense of Indigenous Peoples’ rights.

📢 United Nations experts are calling on the Government of to publish the findings of two presidential commissions reviewing land use and relocation policies in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, amid growing concern over the situation of

In August 2024, more than 40,000 Maasai pastoralists protested plans to remove them from their ancestral lands. Indigenous Peoples have the right to remain on their territories, and any relocation must be based on prior agreement, including fair compensation, livelihood support, and equitable benefit sharing.

Authorities have indicated plans to reduce the number of residents in the area while expanding what they describe as a “voluntary” relocation programme.

➡️ The experts stress that all measures must comply with international human rights standards and ensure that communities are fully informed and actively involved in decisions about their future.

🌍✨ As International Women’s Month 2026 comes to a close, IWDA reflects on a powerful period of advocacy, celebration, and collective action.

This year’s theme, “Rights. Justice. Action. For ALL Women and Girls,” reminded us that gender equality is not optional; it is a fundamental human right.

Throughout March, we celebrated the leadership of Indigenous women, amplified their voices, and highlighted their critical role in climate justice, cultural preservation, and community resilience. Yet, as the month ends, the work does not.

The fight for equality continues beyond March. It requires sustained commitment, real accountability, and continued investment in women-led solutions.

At IWDA, we remain dedicated to advancing Indigenous women’s rights and leadership, today, tomorrow, and every day.

Indigenous Peoples are at the forefront of the fight against climate change demanding recognition, securing their rights, and mobilizing resources to protect their lands and futures.

At IWDA, we stand with Indigenous women and communities whose knowledge, leadership, and lived experience provide powerful pathways to resilience. Their solutions are rooted in culture, community-led action, and cross-border solidarity.

Climate justice cannot be achieved without Indigenous voices at the center.

Stand with Indigenous leaders. Support their work. Invest in community-driven solutions that protect our planet for generations to come.

💧🌍 World Water Day 2026 🌍💧

Water is life. Yet millions still live without access to safe and clean water.

Today, we join the global call to recognize the importance of freshwater and take action toward a more sustainable and just future for all.

This year highlights the powerful link between water and gender equality, because women and girls are often the most affected by water scarcity, yet remain key leaders in managing and protecting water resources.

At IWDA, we work alongside Indigenous communities where women are:
💧 Protecting water sources
🌿 Preserving ecosystems
🗣 Advocating for rights and access
👩🏾‍🌾 Leading sustainable solutions

Water is not just a resource, it is a human right.

Let us act together to protect water, empower women, and secure a sustainable future. https://www.iwdatanzania.org/maji-safi-na-salama

Happy International Women’s Day 2026.

Through our empowerment programs, IWDA works to support Indigenous communities by promoting access to education, strengthening advocacy for rights and representation, and advancing economic initiatives that create sustainable opportunities for women and their families.

Indigenous women are leaders, knowledge keepers, and agents of transformation. Their leadership drives progress in community development, cultural preservation, and environmental stewardship.

This year’s theme, “Give to Gain 2026,” reminds us that when we invest in women’s empowerment, we build stronger communities and a more equitable future for all.
