Smirna is None profit organization which works as an advocate for poor children in Arusha Shangarai. Elisha who is a Director of Smirna grew up in this village here is his own testimony
“I grew up in this community and saw a lot of suffering from these children; I saw rejection, abandonment, abuse, kids are forced out of their houses when their parents die, I saw oppression, some are chased out of

the house when they fail to pay rent. These kids grow up to end in the same way and also pass it to their children. I have worked with a women program and witnessed the suffering and struggle these women go through trying to raise their kids and give them education.

It’s been a long time since my last update (December last year), but today I feel deeply grateful to share what God has been doing through this school project.

By His grace and through the generosity of kind hearts like yours:
🙏 One classroom has been completed
🙏 Four additional pit latrines have been added
🙏 Children now have better access to sanitation and learning
However, the work is not yet finished.

We have a 5,000-liter water tank to provide clean water for the school, but right now it is sitting on stacked bricks. This is unsafe for the children, and it weighs heavily on our hearts. A proper stand is urgently needed to protect their lives.

➡️ Cost to build the water tank stand: $763
In addition, one classroom is still incomplete. Finishing this classroom will allow more children to learn in a safe, dignified environment.
➡️ Cost to complete the classroom: $5,800

Jesus reminds us that “whatever you did for one of the least of these, you did for Me.” This is more than construction it is an investment in children, education, safety, and hope for the future.

At Smirna Children’s Dream School, we give orphaned children the gift of free education but it’s more than just learning. We are giving them hope, confidence, and a chance to dream again.
