Peace Matunda NGO Tanzania / Peace Matunda School and Orphanage was founded in 2005 by Unambwe Zephania Kaaya, a professional wildlife guide and community leader.

Born and raised in the area, Kaaya initiated the project for the benefit of his community after witnessing the difficulties he saw his people face on a daily basis. To cover a part of the running costs Kaaya is running Peace Matunda Tours which is a cultural tourism, safari, and guided trekking tour company that supports the School and Orphanage.

At Peace Matunda, Christmas is a moment of togetherness.
Many of our children — and many children from the surrounding village — come from families who are unable to celebrate at home. We want to give them all a day filled with warmth, dignity, and belonging. ❤️
With a simple celebration of food, soda, music, dancing and a small gift, we hope to bring smiles, connection, and a feeling of community to every child who joins us.
For our children in Peacematunda we would love to provide:

A huge thank you to Small Changes! 💛
Thanks to your support, our children can now eat more hygienically – the old, worn-out plastic plates have been replaced with brand-new stainless steel dishes for the entire school. 🙌
We also received new sports uniforms, games, and sports equipment, bringing even more energy, fun, and teamwork to our days! 🏀🏸🤸‍♀️
These small changes truly make a big difference — helping our children grow healthier, happier, and more confident every day. 🌍✨

🌍☀️ This week, Peace Matunda Children’s Centre received a new solar installation – reducing firewood use, protecting our cook from smoke, and providing clean, independent energy.
