From Inspiration to Impact in Kondoa!

​Through the project Empowering Schools as Change Agents for Sustainable Conservation and More Food Security (implemented by CASEE & IKI Small Grants), Isabe Primary School one of our 10 project schools is leading the way.

​After receiving and planting seedlings, the Environmental Club teacher and students were inspired to establish a school tree nursery. Today, this initiative is delivering real impact:

1. ​Restoring the Environment: Regenerating degraded lands in Kondoa.
2. ​Securing Nutrition: Planting fruit trees to build future food security for students.
3. ​Empowering Change Agents: Turning students into green ambassadors in their communities.

​This is more than just planting trees it’s inspiring a greener, healthier future!

During our recent Digitalization in Education training in Karatu, we stepped out of the seminar room and directly into the classroom to witness digital integration in real time.

​Observing Bwawani Primary School’s computer lab in action and watching a teacher seamlessly deliver lessons using a Smart Board reinforced one clear truth: when technology is introduced meaningfully, teaching becomes interactive, and student comprehension skyrockets.

​Key Insights from the Field Visit:
1. ​Visual & Interactive Learning: Complex concepts become simpler and clearer when presented through dynamic visual media.
2. ​Active Student Engagement: Learners shift from passive listeners into active, curious participants.
3. ​Foundational Tech Literacy: Introducing computer labs at the primary school level builds essential 21st-century skills from an early age.

Yesterday was an incredibly productive day in our Digitalization of Education training alongside CASEE and SHIPO. SHIPO

​We didn't just focus on collecting school data (EMIS), but on how to translate those insights into real classroom impact through:

​1. The Evidence Chain: Mapping the learning process from content and teacher usage directly to pupil activity and learning outcomes.
2. DEWS (Dropout Early Warning System): Leveraging data to spot early indicators of students at risk of dropping out, allowing for timely intervention.

​For data to truly matter, there must be intention and follow-up.

​
