A special ‘thanks’ to Jim for coming in and read with us! We got through a page and a half!
It was a tough read, but a good read all the same!!!
Life hasn’t been easy with Anne.. as she struggles with her feelings with her mother continues..
That, along with what’s happening around her, doesn’t make her life any easier either.
Everyone’s nerves were on edge when a group of N***s came to occupy the private office downstairs..
As well as the constant fire from the antiaircraft guns, making everyone lose their sleep for nights..
Our reading ends with the ‘silly old goat’…
That ‘old goat’ belonged to Mr. Dussel,as he celebrated his birthday…
His gifts consisted of Bread, Cognac cakes, other worldly foods, and books..
Very luxurious gifts, if you ask me..

Next time we will see what happens after Mr. Dussel’s birthday..
Hopefully things will turn better for Anne, and for everyone..

Thank you to our loyal listeners, Wendy and Michael! As well as our two avid readers Jim, and Adam, for participating in tonight's Reading Adventures! We covered quite a lot of grounds today!!! From the tense beginning, to more heartbreak body contents, to the 'perfect storm' ending..
It feels like the Frank family, and Mr. Van Daan family, as well as Mr. Dussel are having some setbacks in their lives.. More so for Otto Frank, because his 'business' is in jeoparty, as his main ingredient for making the fruit jam, Opekta, is now in what seem like, a standstill. His 'supplier', Mr. Kleiman, has fallen ill. As well as a few others that had fallen under a 'spell'...

Hopefully things will get better for them as we dive back in next week for more updates from Ms. Anne Frank!!

One slang term a day from Sterling Hsiao (Phoenix Bilingual Toastmasters Club) on 5/13. The ick
A sudden feeling that you dislike someone or something or are no longer attracted to someone because of something they do. 令人𣊬間反感的、令人倒胃口噁心的！
Examples:
1. Give someone the ick.
I used to like Kevin, but when I saw him in that suit it gave me the ick.
2. Pet rats give me the ick.
3. Get the ick. If you suddenly get the ick, you don’t have to act on it straight away and break out with the person.
4. If you suddenly feel repulsed by someone you are dating, that’s the ick talking.
