Yesterday, hosted by the 台北市進出口商業同業公會, we held our Seventh Board of Directors meeting for the first term and our Second Annual General Meeting. We turned one year old!

It was a good exercise to show all the activities we held during our first year of operations, quite a feat to manage to organise this flurry of events and manage to get traction starting from scratch.

During the AGM, the financial accounts, budget and working plan for 2026 have been approved showing the trust the members have in the administration by the Board and the Executive Committee. Furthermore, the official communication to all members of the establishment of the Banking and Finance Committee was release with Chris Cottorone and Matteo Serone appointed as Co-Chairs. Also the establishment of the Technology and Energy Committee was approved.

We thank Luigi Raffone, our Honourary Member Director of the Italian Trade Agency - Taipei Office 義大利經濟貿易文化推廣辦事處貿易組 for his speech while representing the Director of the 義大利經濟貿易文化推廣辦事處 Italian Economic, Trade and Cultural Promotion Office and for announcing the establishment under his office of an FDI desk which will be led by Chris Cottorone in cooperation with the New York State Taiwan Trade Office.

Thanks to all the members who joined us in person and online, we wouldn't be here without you all.

And now onwards and upwards with the second year!

What a way to close our first full year of activities!

The Taiwan-Italy Financial Cooperation Workshop was an astounding success with incredible participation by local banks, financial associations and industry participants.

Hosted by our partners 台灣金融研訓院, which were among the co-organisers together with the Securities and Futures Institute, the Office of International Affairs of the 國立臺灣大學 National Taiwan University and our Founding Member Eurizon Capital Asia Limited and the 義大利經濟貿易文化推廣辦事處 Italian Economic, Trade and Cultural Promotion Office as Advisory Organisation.

Our President Andrea Sing-Ying Lee was specially invited by the Senior Members Fellowship of the Kaohsiung International Junior Chamber of Commerce at its 584th monthly meeting on the evening of the 8th at the Lees Hotel in Kaohsiung. Chairperson Hsu Shih‑jung to deliver a lecture titled “International Etiquette and Professional Image Management".

We thank them for this prestigious opportunity to help local businesses better navigate international deals and practices.

Last Thursday we had a blast with our first networking event of the year kindly hosted by our new member Hseiyi at their 義大利Olitalia奧利塔橄欖油 Academy in New Taipei City.

During their company presentation they gave a demonstration of olive oil tasting while the Master Pizzaiolo Gino Zheng of Gino Pizza Napoletana蘆洲店 prepared for us delicious pizza and snacks.

We were glad to have our institutional partners of the Italian Trade Agency - Taipei Office 義大利經濟貿易文化推廣辦事處貿易組 and the 義大利經濟貿易文化推廣辦事處 Italian Economic, Trade and Cultural Promotion Office present also to witness our first even Honorary Consultant appointment, which we were honoured to award to Mr Chun-Li Lee, former Director-General of the Energy Administration of the Ministry of Economic Affairs. Glad to have you now onboard!

On the 12th of April 2026 our President Andrea Sing-Ying Lee held a lecture at the International College of our Member the 國立臺灣大學 National Taiwan University about "Global Competence with Internationalization at Home" and received a prestigious Certificate of Appreciation for the efforts by the Dean himself.

This lecture is part of our expanding academic partnership with the most prestigious University in Taiwan.

Yesterday together with our partners 台灣金融研訓院 we co-organised the periodic TABF Connect, with short talks focussed on Sustainable Finance.

Congratulations to our Director Sammy Su for being one of the speakers with her speech about “Building credible sustainability in AI data centers: pathways to a greener tomorrow”.

Thanks again to TABF for hosting us at their venue and to the 歐洲在臺商務協會 European Chamber of Commerce Taiwan - ECCT and the Taiwan Institute for Sustainable Energy for being our fellow co-organisers.

The Luncheon on the Promotion of Financial Cooperation between Italy and Taiwan was a success hosted at our member a Mano Taipei (fresh of a great accolade by 50 Top Pizza).

For the first time, the institutional representatives from the financial sector of Taiwan sat at the same table together with the "Sistema Italia" and the Italian financial industry heralded by our proud founding member Eurizon under the aegis of the Chamber.

This first "family" meeting broke the ice for more technical and large events which are to come.
