For over 40 years, Cathwel has helped more than 2,500 children find permanent families through intercountry adoption. Over the years, we have also accompanied around 600 adoptees on their reunion and roots-finding journeys.
Through these experiences, we have come to realize that every adoptee's story is unique, and we have always hoped to better understand how adoptees are doing as adults and how intercountry adoption has shaped their lives.
To support this goal, Cathwel Service is collaborating with Ms. Liang-Yu Chen, a master's student at the Graduate Institute of Social Work, National Taiwan Normal University, on a practice-based research project entitled "A Study of Cathwel Service's Intercountry Adoption Services: The Subjective Well-being of Adult Adoptees."
The study explores adult adoptees' well-being, relationships with adoptive parents, and perspectives on intercountry adoption, with the hope of improving future adoption services.
