本會之任務如下：
一、結合各領域的學術與實務專業工作者，建構一個可以彼
此對話研討的公共領域。
二、經由彼此的溝通與切磋，發展能結合在地社區營造工作
的相關理論方法與技術，並進行資料的蒐集與出版。
三、推動社區營造理念，為地方社區組織與行政部門提供適
切的理論、方法與資訊。
四、社區營造人才培養訓練及相關事項。
五、接受政府機關、公私機構及民間團體委辦之社區營造相
關之研究規劃、設計、工程及相關法規研修事項。
六、進行與國內外社區營造相關組織會議之交流及參與事
項。
七、結合各領域的力量，以站在民間的立場，對各層級政府
部門的社區相關政策之研擬與推動積極提出建言。
