🏝️ KAS Grade 8: Three Days of Adventure in Taitung 🌊

Finally the heat of summer is behind us, and it's time to enjoy a sunny fall in Taiwan! Check out our Grade 8 students from Kaohsiung American School who travelled to Taitung for three days of outdoor adventure, cultural experiences and experiential learning.

The students got to:

🏄 Surf on Taiwan's east coast
🥥 Take part in a hands-on coconut workshop
🌿 Visit Dulan Tribe
⛵ Raft building activity on Flowing Lake
🔥 Gather around a beach bonfire
🍽️ Share family-style house dinners

Our goal isn't just to keep everyone busy. Each activity gives students opportunities to try something new, work together, connect with their surroundings and experience a different side of Taiwan.

And sometimes, the moments around the activities, like sharing dinner, laughing around the fire, or encouraging a friend through a challenge, become the memories that last the longest for our students.

📸 Best of Summer Camps ✨

Summer is always over so fast! Looking through photos from our camps over the years always brings back incredible memories, like... rafts that somehow floated, students conquering the high ropes course, river tracing through hidden valleys, SUP, kayaking, hiking, bouldering, Survival 101, hand crafts... and countless moments of laughter, teamwork, muddy shoes, and new friendships.

In our experience, activities like these are vital opportunities for young people to build confidence, solve problems, work together, and discover what they're capable of. Every summer brings new adventures, new friendships, and memories that last far beyond the final day of camp.

We're already excited for next year.

Registrations for our 2027 Summer Camps will open at the end of this year. We hope to see many familiar faces—and plenty of new ones too!

🏮 A Northern Taiwan Adventure 🍵

Not all of our adventures are for students—sometimes we get to welcome teams from around the world, too!

Earlier this year, we had the pleasure of hosting the team from Lumen Capital for a cultural experience through northern Taiwan, offering a chance to slow down, connect, and explore together outside the office.

The day began with a ride on the Maokong Gondola, taking in sweeping views over Taipei before arriving in the tea-growing hills of Maokong. There, the group experienced one of Taiwan's most treasured traditions through a tea ceremony and tea tasting, learning about the history, craftsmanship, and culture behind every cup of tea.

After enjoying a delicious traditional Taiwanese lunch, the journey continued to Shifen, where everyone wrote their wishes on sky lanterns before watching them drift into the sky.

At Imagine Taiwan, we believe great team building doesn't always have to involve obstacle courses or competitions. Sometimes, the most meaningful experiences come from sharing a meal, discovering a new culture, and creating memories together in a beautiful place.

🌿 Three days of growth and memories 🌿

This March, we welcomed the Grade 6 students from CTBC International School to Tongxiao, Miaoli, for a 3-day outdoor education journey designed to help students slow down, reconnect with nature, and celebrate an important milestone before graduating elementary school.

Over three days, students experienced:

🌳 Tree climbing
⚖️ Slacklining
🏕️ Survival 101 challenges
📜 Handmade paper making
🚜 Farm ecology tour
👩‍🍳 Master Chef cooking challenge
🍡 Traditional Hakka rice pastry making
🔥 A campfire under the stars
💌 Time capsule letters to their future selves
🍲 Family-style house dinners

Some climbed higher than they ever thought they could. Others discovered that while teamwork isn't always easy, it's incredibly rewarding when everyone works together.

One of our favourite moments came during the Master Chef Challenge. After harvesting vegetables from the garden, students prepared and cooked their own meals from scratch. Even the pickiest eaters couldn't wait to try what everyone had created!

The trip ended with students writing letters to their future selves. This was a quiet moment to reflect on friendships, challenges, and everything they've learned during Grade 6.

We're passionate about outdoor education as an opportunity for young people to build confidence, resilience, independence, as well as meaningful connections with nature, with others, and with themselves. 🎓 KAS Senior Trip 2026 🌊

Three incredible days. One unforgettable experience.

Last week we welcomed the Grade 12 students from Kaohsiung American School to Taitung for their Senior Trip, a special opportunity to celebrate the end of high school before everyone heads off on their next adventure.

Together we:
🏄 Learned to surf on Taiwan's east coast
🥥 Joined a coconut workshop
🏝️ Visited Dulan Tribe and learned about Indigenous culture
🔥 Put our teamwork to the test during Beach Survival 101
🌅 Shared a beach bonfire under the stars
🍲 Finished each day with our favourite tradition: family-style house dinners

Senior trips are a special chance to create memories, build friendships, and take the time to appreciate an important milestone before graduation. Thank you, KAS, for bringing so much energy, curiosity, and enthusiasm to this trip. We wish every one of you the very best for whatever comes next. 💙

Sometimes the most powerful lessons happen outside the classroom 🌳 We just wrapped up an unforgettable 3-days, 2-nights outdoor trip with 14 Grade 6 students from CTBC International School in Tongxiao, Miaoli.
No phones. Just nature, challenges, and real growth.
From survival skills and tree climbing to a full Master Chef challenge where they cooked every dish from scratch — building teamwork & problem-solving skills.

Real learning. Real connections. Real memories. ❤️
