金門獅黃鹽鄉文化發展協會，主要是希望能讓西園鹽場的豐富人文的歷史背景，重拾往日風華。西園鹽場位於金沙鎮原稱「西黃」的西園村內而得名，因西園於獅山旁，加上「西」閩南發音為『獅』，故協會取名為” 獅黃”。
