自從2001年開始，持續兩年一度舉辦的「高雄國際貨櫃藝術節」已然成為高雄的城市特色。2011年貨櫃藝術節以「新式幸福風：藝術█家」為創作徵件主題，透過平凡的貨櫃創造一個跨越時空的「家」的想像。用嶄新的眼光看顧我們生活的質地，並用關注家的眼光與愛來看待我們的城市與大地。
本次實體貨櫃創作共計有12組來自臺灣、西班牙、德國、義大利與美國的優秀隊伍。本屆更獲美國國務院贊助邀請來自高雄姊妹市包括檀香山、聖安東尼、陶沙與邁阿密的藝術家。
另外，也以「我的完美貨櫃」為題，徵求迷你創意模型貨櫃展出，臉書粉絲專頁更邀全民一起參與「我與貨櫃的N種相遇」圖文徵集活動。由貨櫃車改裝的台灣文學行動博物館也將一起參與展出。讓我們透過藝術節一起期待一場日常詩意的美麗革命，創造生生不息的人類航途。
The Kaohsiung International Container Arts Festival has be
en held once every two years since 2001, and has become a distinctive Kaohsiung event. The artists have created visions of the home transcending time and space using very mundane cargo containers. They scrutinize the background textures of our lives from new perspectives, and examine cities and the Earth with the outlook and love of persons concerned about their home. The 12 outstanding teams participating in this year's festival are from Taiwan, Spain, Germany, Italy, and the United States. This year, artists from Kaohsiung's sister cities of Honolulu, San Antonio, Tulsa, and Miami obtained sponsorship from the US Department of State. In addition, miniature model containers on the theme of "my perfect container" will be displayed at the festival, and a Facebook fan page will invite the people of Taiwan to participate in the "N Types of Encounters between Containers and Me" illustration and writing contribution activity. The Mobile Museum of Taiwan Literature, which consists of a modified container truck, will participate in the festival. We look forward to the Container Arts Festival helping bringing about an aesthetic revolution featuring everyday poetry and launching an unending human journey.
