PRELIMINARY
1. The use of the word “equipped” describes the members’ willingness to partake in the relative exercises. Their willingness grew from situations they were involved in, experienced or witnessed.
2. The use of the words “social tools” simply describes important tips needed to become and remain socially adept, while avoiding the negative elements in our society.
3. The word “rehabili
tation” hopes to exhibit the expected outcome of our intervention. There, we hope to bring negatively influenced, orphaned, abandoned, abused and underprivileged young people to a point of realization of their worth, endless possibilities and value to themselves and society.
4. The word “disadvantaged” collectively accounts for victims of abuse, abandonment and neglect, inclusive of those who are forced or easily influenced into negative and self-destructive activities as well as the poverty stricken. DESCRIPTION
The Youth In Motion (YIM) Foundation stands an organization solely for the overall development and sustainability of young people in Trinidad and Tobago, throughout the region and, by extension, the world. To ensure that this goal is achieved, each member of the YIM Foundation is fully equipped for and determined to provide each person with the extra values, virtues, social tools and any other form of assistance that would support their development. The organization recognizes and fully understands society’s mutable nature and the involvement of young people in its positive and negative sectors. Thus, we hope to provide a permanent avenue of rehabilitation and social knowledge for disadvantaged young persons to journey, with our assistance, to and through their justified development. The organization’s main goal is to foster a positively strong, iconic and exemplary support system for present and future generations in a quest to attain a highly valuable population of socially adept, steadfast, self-motivated and virtuous leaders. In addition, we strive to, not only intervene for the purpose of resolution, but to generally raise awareness of the problems affecting and issues concerning our youth. Thus, we envision, with such a beneficially priceless human force, the development of highly valued exemplars, not only in Trinidad and Tobago, but the rest of the world.
