It is with deep sadness that we post the passing of Avion Jonas, a dedicated and loyal volunteer of the CERT 1000 Strong Volunteer Core.

Avion was more than a volunteer. She was someone who showed up, served with compassion, and gave her support wholeheartedly. Her commitment, kindness, loyalty, and unwavering dedication to the cause will never be forgotten.

She lived to serve.
She served with her heart.
Her legacy will live on in all of us.

As we mourn her passing, we extend our heartfelt condolences to her family, loved ones, friends, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing and serving alongside her.

Avion, your service mattered. Your presence made a difference. Your memory will forever remain a part of the CERT 1000 Strong family.

🚨 VENEZUELA HUMANITARIAN RELIEF DRIVE 🇻🇪🤝🇹🇹

Tomorrow, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m, the CERT 1000 Strong Volunteer Core will be travelling throughout West Tobago collecting non-perishable food items and essential supplies for families affected by the humanitarian crisis in Venezuela.

If you're able to help, we're asking each household to donate just one non-perishable item. Every contribution, no matter the size, can make a meaningful difference.

👕 Look out for our volunteers wearing their official CERT 1000 Strong jerseys and safety vests.

📍 If we miss you, donations can also be dropped off at the TEMA Office, Fairfield Complex, Bacolet.

📍 TTDRM 2026 | Day 3 Recap

The final day of the Trinidad & Tobago Disaster Risk Management Conference & Expo 2026 brought together professionals, policymakers, emergency responders, volunteers, and community leaders to explore innovative approaches to building resilience across our region.

Throughout the day, discussions focused on the role of artificial intelligence in disaster risk management, digital innovation, health system preparedness, inclusive resilience, community engagement, and the importance of strengthening partnerships before disasters occur.

A key message echoed throughout the conference:

💡 Resilience is built through preparation, collaboration, inclusion, and action.

The CERT 1000 Strong Volunteer Core was proud to participate in these important conversations, contributing perspectives on volunteerism, community preparedness, and the need to shift greater focus toward pre-disaster planning and readiness.

As TTDRM 2026 comes to a close, we leave with new knowledge, stronger partnerships, and a renewed commitment to building safer and more resilient communities throughout Tobago.
