Our Why
Transforming Environmental Education Sucessfully (T.E.E.S.) came out of a simple desire to do education differently. You see, we have seen where different organisations come to schools, speak to the kids and then poof....they are gone. Do the children remember what they are taught after? Maybe...
But we wanted to change that - to have an integrated and inclusive approach to environmental education where the entire school participates. In the end, the main goal is to create sustainable (green) schools across Trinidad and Tobago.
Environmental for sustainable development calls for sustainable development to be integrated throughout the formal sector curriculum in a holistic manner rather than being taught on a stand alone basis.
This approach means that a school will incorporate teaching & learning for sustainable development not only through aspects of the curriculum but also through sustainable school operations such as integrated governance, stakeholder and community involvement, long term planning and sustainability monitoring.
