Gilbert was celebrated in the culture field for his stalwart contribution to Carnival and Christmas festivities. He was recognized by many as being a very active, energetic and jovial individual in his community. He passed on in January of 2021 after being diagnosed with Stage IV Lung Cancer. Despite his attentiveness with medical checkups, the disease advanced undetected until it was too late for
treatment. Gilbert's untimely passing, his children decided to establish this foundation with the intent to mitigate the effects of this disease on affected families thereby leaving a legacy by which he can be positively remembered. Vision

The Emmanuel Gilbert Lung Cancer Foundation offers community support by raising public awareness through advocacy and education with the intention of increasing the longevity of lung cancer patients locally, regionally and internationally. Objectives

3. Support families emotionally, psychologically and financially who have been affected by lung cancer

6. Refer persons seeking lung cancer treatment and information to relevant support services
