The Tourism Industry Association of Trinidad & Tobago is proud to launch a national culinary initiative that celebrates and elevates our rich culinary heritage. 🇹🇹🔥

For years, Trinidad & Tobago has made its mark at Taste of the Caribbean, proudly showcasing the skill, creativity, and passion of our culinary professionals.
After a two-year absence, we are ready to return to the stage with confidence, purpose, and an unwavering determination.

This initiative is about more than competition. It is about shaping a more resilient tourism industry, strengthening our culinary identity, and encouraging our young people to see culinary arts, hospitality, and tourism as pathways to creativity, entrepreneurship, cultural expression, and national achievement.

As we prepare for the regional stage, TIATT continues to drive the narrative for a skilled workforce and authentic “Where to Dine” experiences that proudly set Trinidad & Tobago apart.

The countdown is ON!
On June 15th, 2026, Trinidad & Tobago will host the official competition to select our National Culinary Team.

We have our professional judges lined up.
We have our competitors ready to go.
We have our mystery basket prepped.

The only question is…
Who will make the team?

Get on board with us as we support our national team and celebrate the future of Trinidad & Tobago’s culinary excellence.

The Tourism Industry Association of Trinidad and Tobago (TIATT) held its first General Meeting on Thursday 21st May 2026 at the Hyatt Regency Trinidad.

TIATT President Lisa Shandilya delivered an address titled Tourism 2026: The New Equilibrium, highlighting that the global tourism industry is evolving rapidly through digital influence, strategic partnerships, authentic storytelling, data intelligence, and innovation.

She noted that in this new era, the destinations that succeed are not necessarily the biggest, but those that are agile, connected, authentic, and coordinated.

President Shandilya also officially launched the Flame & Spirit Food and Beverage Competition 2026, where chefs, pastry chefs, junior chefs, and bartenders will compete for the opportunity to represent Trinidad and Tobago at the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association Taste of the Caribbean Competition later this year in Barbados.

Remarks were also delivered by Ms. Abigail Bynoe, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Trade, Investment and Tourism, on behalf of the Honourable Minister of Trade, Investment and Tourism, Senator Satyakama "K**a" Maharaj.

Ms. Bynoe highlighted Trinidad and Tobago's rich tourism assets, including its leisure resources, culture, eco and marine offerings, business capacity, sport, religious heritage, and cultural heritage. She also encouraged the industry to further develop domestic tourism, noting the potential for all-inclusive weekend experiences and stronger entertainment value.

She further shared that the Ministry of Trade, Investment and Tourism is exploring Ghana as a tourism hub to support access to African and Indian tourism markets.
