On the heels of our deeply moving and successful Mother's May Tales and Tables edition event held in May to honor our mothers. The Port of Spain South Women’s League is keeping the momentum of love, solidarity, and community care moving forward.

We heard your stories, we shared your tears, and we celebrated your unmatched strength. But we know that leadership and single motherhood are journeys that require continuous, unwavering support. The conversations started at our Mother's May event have made one thing beautifully clear: our women need a soft place to land and a powerful reminder that they do not walk this path alone.

That is why, we are opening the doors to a beautiful new initiative.
We are inviting our community to the HOPE Table. This is a judgment-free space designed explicitly "for the bravest hearts we’ve seen yet." Whether you are carrying the heavy load of leadership, family, or the daily grind of making ends meet, this space is for you.

This initiative is a beautiful exchange of resources, grace, and shared wisdom.

🌿 A Blessed Corpus Christi from the POS South Women’s League! 🌿

Today, we join our Catholic community and fellow citizens in celebrating the beautiful feast of Corpus Christi. As the annual procession winds through the streets of our capital city, we reflect on the powerful message of love, sacrifice, and community togetherness.

Corpus Christi is also a time of growth and renewal. Whether you are spending the day in reflection at the Cathedral or getting your hands dirty planting in your backyard gardens to catch the traditional holiday rain, we hope your day is filled with peace and purpose.

Let us use today to support one another, nourish our communities, and keep the spirit of unity alive in Port of Spain South.

The PNM's National Women’s League Celebrates its 70-Year Anniversary

On 19th May, 1956, the PNM launched its Women’s Committee. From the late Isabel Ursula Cadogan-Teshea, the first woman elected to the House of Representatives, to the current Lady Vice Chairman, Dr. The Hon. Nyan Gadsby Dolly , the National Women's League has stood as a bastion of support for the People's National Movement.
Thousands of dedicated women have contributed to the success of the League throughout the decades, making the National Women’s League of the People’s National Movement the premier women's political group in Trinidad and Tobago.

Today, the 70th anniversary of the National Women's League is made even more special, as for the first time, the PNM can boast of female leadership at the highest level of the party:
The Honourable Penny Beckles -Robinson, Political Leader and Opposition Leader of the PNM, and Mrs. Shamfa Cudjoe-Lewis, Deputy Political Leader of the PNM and Political Leader of the Tobago Council.
Their leadership stands as a testament to how far we have come and the strong foundation laid by the pioneering women who came before them.
We salute and thank the women of our great party who have worked tirelessly to help shape not only the PNM, but also the development and progress of Trinidad and Tobago.

This will be an honest assessment and thought-provoking address as we consider the realities confronting the people.

Former Tunapuna Member of Parliament Edward “Eddie” Hart has passed.

Hart’s contributions to sport and community initiatives are reflected in the continued use of the Eddie Hart Grounds in Tacarigua, a venue that serves as a hub for local football and other recreational events.
