*LOVE MATTERS*

“And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.” ( *1 Corinthians 13:13* )

Valentine’s Day, celebrated every year on February 14, carries layers of meaning shaped by history, tradition, and culture. Historically, it traces back to Saint Valentine, remembered for acts of kindness and sacrifice. It is widely recognized as a day to express love. However, love is not just a feeling. It is the very heartbeat of God. Everything He does flows from love, and everything He calls you to do must be rooted in love. Faith is powerful. Hope is essential. But love is what gives both their meaning. Without love, your actions become empty, your words lose their weight, and your gifts lose their shine. Love is important because it reflects who God is. When you love, you reveal God’s character. When you forgive, when you show kindness, when you choose patience, when you extend grace, especially when it’s hard, you are demonstrating the very nature of Christ. Love is also important because it transforms. It softens hearts, heals wounds, restores relationships, and breaks down walls that pride and fear build. Love is the language every soul understands, even when words fail. And love is important because it is eternal. Everything else fades, achievements, possessions, titles, but love remains. It is the one thing you can give that never dies. Today, think of someone who needs love expressed in a practical way: your husband, your wife, your mother, father, brother, sister, friend, godchild, neighbour, whoever. That person may need a kind word, a prayer, a message of encouragement, an act of service, a call to say hello, or "how are you?” Ask God to help you love them the way He loves you, freely, fully, and faithfully, because every act of love you choose becomes a seed God can use. Love may seem small in the moment, but it carries eternal weight. It shifts atmospheres and opens doors for God to move in ways you may not see right aw

*THE BURDEN OF UNFORGIVENESS*

“Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” ( *Matthew 11:28* )

Unforgiveness is one of the heaviest loads a person can carry. It doesn’t sit on the shoulders; it settles in the heart. It affects how you think, how you love, how you trust, and even how you pray. Many people believe that holding on to hurt protects them from being hurt again, but in reality, it keeps the wound open and the heart weary. Unforgiveness whispers, “ *They don’t deserve it* .” But Jesus gently responds, “ *Neither did you, yet I forgave you* .” The burden of unforgiveness is subtle. It shows up as tension when a certain name is mentioned, as bitterness when a memory resurfaces, or as distance in relationships that were once close. It drains spiritual energy and blocks the flow of peace. It becomes a weight you were never designed to carry. Forgiveness is not saying the hurt didn’t matter. It’s saying your heart matters more. It’s choosing freedom over bitterness, healing over replaying the pain, and obedience over emotion. Forgiveness is not a feeling; it’s a decision empowered by God’s grace. Jesus invites you to exchange your heavy burdens for His rest. When you release others, you release yourself. When you forgive, you make room for God to restore what was broken. Forgiveness doesn’t change the past, but it transforms your future. Today, unburden yourself; your heart was made for freedom. Release the hurt, the pain, the anger. Set yourself free. The manifestation of forgiveness is in the application. Forgiveness flows through God’s grace when we apply it. Remember to forgive freely, forgive fully, and forgive finally. Have a blessed day filled with love and forgiveness. Shalom, shalom.

*HUMILITY IN LEADERSHIP*

“Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant.” ( *Matthew 20:26* )

Have you ever had someone take your kindness for weakness? Some people will even try to make you feel that being humble is opening yourself up to abuse by others. This is clearly because people see humility as weakness. Humility is not weakness; it is wisdom wrapped in grace. In God’s kingdom, leadership is never about standing above others; it is about kneeling low enough for God to lift you up. Jesus redefined greatness by taking a towel, not a throne. He showed us that the most powerful leaders are those who choose to serve. Humility in leadership means recognizing that influence is a gift, not a right. It means acknowledging that you are a steward, not an owner; a vessel, not the source; a guide, not the destination. When leaders walk humbly, people feel safe, valued, and empowered. When leaders walk in pride, people feel pressured, overlooked, and diminished. Moses led with a trembling voice, yet God called him the meekest man on earth. David was a king, yet he danced before the Lord with childlike abandonment. Jesus washed the feet of those who would soon abandon Him. Today, remember, humility does not shrink your calling; it strengthens it. It keeps your heart soft, your motives pure, and your ears open to God’s direction. A humble leader is teachable, approachable, and willing to admit mistakes. They do not need to be the loudest voice in the room because they trust the One who called them. Humility in leadership invites you to lead from a place of surrender rather than striving. It reminds you that your strength comes from God, not from your position. When we lead humbly, we create environments where others can grow, flourish, and discover their own God-given potential. Have a blessed and beautiful day. Shalom, Shalom.

… THAT OVERWHELMING FEELING …

He rescues me unharmed from the battle waged against me, even though many oppose me. God, who is enthroned from of old, who does not change— he will hear them and humble them, because they have no fear of God. (*Psalm 55:18-19*) (*NIV*)

Whew! Take a deep breath. You have been through a lot and are probably still dealing with some stuff. You might even feel like you're losing the battle. The feeling can be so overwhelming. When will you catch a break? Yep. We’re in a battle, and the enemy we’re fighting is strong. He has more experience than we do. And honestly, we have given him a foothold in our lives through what we say and do. There are times when you might have even broken down and cried because you're feeling so overwhelmed. You feel alone and defeated. You put on a brave face because you know that, as someone who serves God, it would look faithless and weak to walk around looking defeated and dejected. But that's just a façade. You're feeling the pain of the battle. Your spiritual muscles are sore. They hurt so badly from the constant fighting. Hmmm, who knows, you might not even be wearing your full armor every day. You may have on your helmet of salvation but not be carrying the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Today, if you are feeling overwhelmed by life, remember, it is going to be okay. Even positive experiences can make us anxious, fearing they might not last. Everyone feels overwhelmed by work, relationships, finances, and changes at times. While “ *prayer changes things* ” may sound cliché, it remains true. God has already overcome your challenges, and His Word reminds us: “ *I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace.” In this world, you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world* ” (John 16:33). Remember, even Jesus often went alone to escape the crowds. Take a break. Take a deep breath. Rejuvenate and return stronger. You will find your strength in the Lord. Don’t try to rely on your own strength. When you feel overwhelmed, it might help to step away from the situation if you can. Continue to rely on God’s strength and pray for peace, trusting that He has promised to help you. He will never leave you nor forsake you. “ *God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore, we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea* ” (Psalm 46:1–2). Have a blessed and victorious day. Shalom, shalom.
