UPDATE!!!!!
Mid January 2026 we went to Italy for follow-up mainly because Amari was getting ill often as well as a lump behind his right ear. Everything went more or less well but we got another "RARE" surprise..... after MRI and a biopsy it was confirmed to be Mucoepidermoid carcinoma (MEC), which is a malignant tumor.
Amari did surgery shortly after to remove the tumor, which was successful. Because of the grading of the tumor Amari has to be very closely monitored for any changes this will include us coming back to Italy in 2 months.
Amari is in very good spirits despite what he is going through, he is a real warrior. At 7 years old he has encountered 2 very rare medical issues and we pray so much that he can have his normal life with no other complications. This has been a hard and confusing time for us and it still is as we navigate keeping Amari healthy. We want to continue to thank you all for keeping us in prayer.
