Yesterday, I was left speechless when I heard and saw the efforts of this cohort of youngsters ... giving it their ALL as they prepare for a couple upcoming events in June & July!😘
Truth be told, though ... when Uncle Roseford started to 'put down' this piece ... (after they worked through the scales, mind you ... cause we NOT joking about preparations for the written exam in May 2027!!!) ...
.. my patience wore a little thin at him having to repeat the 'repeats'!🥴 ...
.. and, hmm ... come to think of it ... perhaps, I was a little unfair in my 'judgement' of how long it 'appeared' to be taking them to grasp what he was teaching!😔 ...
... and that was so because (here's soooo history😅) ...
.. many, many years ago ... when I stood being the 7-bass pan in 'd Village ... all it took was Boogsie 'giving' me (just the ONE time💪🏾), whatever 'notes' he next needed to 'add' to the composition ... and then showing the 'phrasing & tempo' of the music ...
.. and voila! It was a done deal! I was good to go!🫣😜
... thus ... in short order ... I took my leave & left them to their 'device'!😁
.. soooo ...
.. imagine my consternation (again) when, upon returning in about 1/2 hr's time ... and we confronted with ...

.. and yes!!!
.. the SENIORS, too, have already begun working on something 'special' which will hear after next week's rehearsal!😜
.. needless to say ... all round ... I was LITERALLY moved to tears of joy!
Ummm ... basically ... I was reminded that the million trips to pick up/ drop off ... impacting young lives in such a POSITIVE manner ... it's really all worth it!!!
So all thanks and praises to the almighty for grace, strength, life ... and the ability!🙌🏾😘🤗
