On Tuesday, September 4th, The Trinidad and Tobago Child Care Training Academy, in collaboration with The Stitches of Faith Project, hosted our very first emotional intelligence workshop for pre-teens.
The session, led by Miss Nicole, was fun, interactive, and engaging. Our young participants were attentive, receptive, and eager to learn, exploring essential life skills such as:
💡 Understanding and expressing feelings
💡 Building stronger friendships
💡 Growing resilience and empathy
💡 Boosting confidence and communication
💡 Responding healthily to pranks and peer rejection
Strategies, we are confident that they are already putting into practice.
With 95 enthusiastic participants, the workshop reached full capacity, and we look forward to hosting again soon for those who couldn’t attend.
Emotionally intelligent children grow into emotionally intelligent adults. Teaching people how to regulate their emotions is not just a soft skill, it is crime prevention, addiction prevention, su***de prevention, and generational healing. Emotional intelligence is survival. It is the foundation of a society where people can disagree without dehumanizing each other, where accountability is understood and respected, and where conflict doesn’t have to lead to violence.
We sincerely thank the parents and guardians of all participants, and the kids themselves, for being absolutely amazing!
