TRAINING OF EMPOWERMENT SOMALI YOUTH THROUGH SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE,OPPORTUNITIES, AND REINTEGRATION

Awood-siinta Dhalinyarada Soomaaliyeed iyada oo loo marayo Xirfado, Fursado, Aqoon iyo Dib-u-dhexgal**

Tababarkan wuxuu diiradda saarayaa awood-siinta dhalinyarada Soomaaliyeed** iyadoo la siinayo xirfado wax-ku-ool ah, aqoon, fursado horumarineed iyo taageero dib-u-dhexgal.

Dhalinyaradu waa awoodda iyo mustaqbalka Soomaaliya. Marka la siiyo , xirfado iyo fursado waxay awood u yeelan karaan inay dhistaan mustaqbalkooda, abuuraan fursado shaqo iyo ganacsi, kana qayb qaataan horumarka, nabadda iyo is-dhexgalka bulshada.

Tababarku wuxuu sidoo kale taageerayaa dhalinyarada dib ugu soo laabtay dalkooda, isagoo ka caawinaya inay dib u dhistaan noloshooda dib ugu dhex milmaan bulshooyinkooda, ayna khibradahooda uga faa’iideystaan si wanaagsan.

Aqoon waxay dhalisaa faham.
Xirfad waxa abuurtaa fursad.
Fursad waxay dhistaa mustaqbal.
Dib-u-dhexgalkuna wuxuu xoojiyaa bulshada.

Waxaa tababarkan hoggaaminaya Tababare Sare Bashi Hassan Mohamed (Biibaye), oo diiradda saaraya kobcinta awoodda dhalinyarada, hoggaamintooda, kalsoonidooda iyo ka qaybqaadashadooda horumarinta bulshada.

Dhalinyaro la awood-siiyay maanta, waa hoggaamiyeyaal awood leh berri.

Waxaan aaminsanahay in dhalinyaro kasta oo Soomaaliyeed ay mudan tahay fursad ay ku **wax ku barato, xirfad ku yeelato, ku koro, kuna dhisato mustaqbal wanaagsan.**

**Xirfaddu waxay dhistaa kalsooni.

# **SYRN STATEMENT ON WORLD HUMANITARIAN DAY 2026**

# # **“Building a Better Future for Young People Through Humanity, Dignity and Solidarity”**

**19 August 2026 | Mogadishu, Somalia**

On **World Humanitarian Day**, the **Somali Youth Returnees Network (SYRN)** joins communities, humanitarian workers, volunteers, civil society organizations, and partners around the world in recognizing the courage, compassion, and commitment of those working to protect and support people affected by crisis.

Humanitarian action is not only about responding to emergencies. It is also about **protecting dignity, restoring hope, creating opportunities, and helping people rebuild their lives**.

For Somali youth, particularly young people affected by displacement, migration, return, unemployment and vulnerability, humanitarian support must go beyond immediate assistance. Young people need **education, skills, livelihoods, psychosocial support, protection, accurate information and meaningful opportunities to participate in rebuilding their communities.**

As SYRN, we believe that every young person deserves the opportunity to build a safe and dignified future.

# # # **Our Commitment**

SYRN remains committed to:

* Supporting the **safe and sustainable reintegration of Somali youth returnees**.
* Raising awareness about the risks of **irregular migration, trafficking and exploitation**.
* Promoting **skills development, education, employment and entrepreneurship**.
* Connecting young people with information, services and opportunities.
* Strengthening **youth-led humanitarian and community solutions**.
* Promoting dignity, inclusion, protection and meaningful participation of young people.
* Working with humanitarian, development, government, civil society and private-sector partners to create sustainable solutions.

# # # **A Message to Somali Youth**

Your circumstances today do not have to determine your future.

**Returning is not failure. Starting again is not weakness. Asking for support is not shame.**

A difficult journey can become a lesson. A setback can become a new beginning. With the right support, skills and opportunities, young people can transform adversity into resilience and become leaders of positive change.

> **“Humanitarian action begins when we choose to see the dignity of every person.”**

On this World Humanitarian Day, SYRN calls for greater investment in **young people—not only as beneficiaries of humanitarian assistance, but as partners, leaders and agents of change.**

# # # **From Return to Resilience.

From Vulnerability to Opportunity.
From Crisis to Hope.**

SYRN Statement:

Protecting Lives, Not Just Borders
The Somali Youth Returnees Network (SYRN) is deeply concerned by the continued dangers faced by migrants, particularly children and families, who undertake perilous journeys in search of safety and opportunity.
This image is a powerful reminder that behind every migration story are human lives, families, dreams, and children who deserve protection.
No child should have to face the dangers of an unsafe migration journey. No family should have to risk their lives because they feel they have no safe alternatives.
As SYRN, we call for:
Safe and informed migration choices
Greater protection for children and vulnerable migrants
Stronger community awareness on the risks of irregular migration
More opportunities for education, skills, employment, and dignified livelihoods
Stronger reintegration support for returnees
Collective action to prevent trafficking, smuggling, exploitation, and loss of life
Migration should never become a journey where survival is left to chance.
Let us change the narrative from “risking everything to leave” to “building safe opportunities to stay, return, and thrive.”

Statement by the Somali Youth Returnees Network (SYRN) on the Launch of the African Youth Charter

As a youth-led organization working with returnees and vulnerable young people, SYRN believes that awareness of the African Youth Charter will empower youth to make informed decisions, actively participate in governance, advocate for their rights, and contribute to peace, development, and social cohesion across Somalia.

We congratulate the Ministry of Youth and Sports on this milestone and encourage all Somali youth organizations to embrace and promote the African Youth Charter as a roadmap for youth empowerment, leadership, and sustainable development.

Together, let us empower Somali youth to know their rights, fulfill their responsibilities, and shape a brighter future for Somalia and Africa.

Bayaan ku Saabsan Ka Qaybgalka Madasha Ummadda

Waxaa sharaf weyn ii ah inaan ka qayb galo Madasha Ummadda ee ku saabsan “Kor u Qaadista Wacyiga iyo Ka Digista Halisaha Ku Gadaaman Tahriibka Dhalinyarada Soomaaliyeed.”

Anigoo matalaya Somali Youth Returnees Network (SYRN), waxaan fursaddan uga faa’iidaysan doonaa inaan la wadaago xaqiiqooyinka dhabta ah ee tahriibka, khibradaha dhalinyarada soo laabatay, iyo muhiimadda ay leedahay in dhalinyaradu helaan xog sax ah ka hor inta aysan qaadan go’aanno saameyn ku yeelan kara mustaqbalkooda.

Tahriibku wuxuu sababay khasaare naf iyo maalba leh, wuxuuna saameeyay qoysas iyo bulshooyin badan. Sidaa darteed, waxaa muhiim ah inaan kor u qaadno wacyiga, dhiirrigelinno waxbarashada iyo xirfadaha, isla markaana abuurno rajo iyo fursado gudaha dalka.

Waxaan uga mahadcelinayaa Madasha Ummadda qabanqaabada madashan muhiimka ah, waxaana rajeynayaa in doodaha iyo talooyinka laga soo saaro ay gacan ka geysan doonaan badbaadinta iyo horumarinta mustaqbalka dhalinyarada Soomaaliyeed.

Madasha waxa ay diiradda saari doontaa fahamka sababaha keena tahriibka, halisaha safarrada sharci-darrada ah, iyo sidii loo xoojin lahaa wacyiga dhalinyarada.
