Our second artist feature from the Queerwaves Collective for Around the World: Maui

Maui is an Istanbul-based genre-fluid DJ and producer. Developing an interest in music through classical guitar at an early age, Selin Akalın began sharing DJ sets and productions with listeners in 2018 under the moniker “Maui”, exploring different forms of bass-driven club music.

As a regular DJ at Queerwaves party series, Maui draws inspiration from the diverse and ever-evolving landscape of bass music, with selections rooted in Drum & Bass, Dubstep, UK Garage, and their various subgenres.

Through DJ sets and productions, Maui continues to explore new sonic territories and share them with listeners.
