Tamaan MCH in Beledweyne continues to provide critical medical screening and primary healthcare services to local communities and internally displaced persons (IDPs).

Severely ill patients are referred through a collaborative system with WARDI and the main hospital to ensure timely and specialized treatment. The facility also delivers comprehensive nutrition screening, as well as pre- and post-natal care services to protect mothers and children.

MCAN Health Team Leader, confirmed that due to the high demand from beneficiaries, the team remains fully committed and ready to deliver life-saving services. However, additional medical supplies are urgently needed. MCAN has formally requested support from the District Health Officer and WHO to strengthen supply capacity and sustain service delivery at Tamaan MCH.

Together, we continue working to ensure vulnerable communities receive quality and accessible healthcare.

The Marginalized Community Advocacy Network (MCAN), in collaboration with RAGSAN, LOOP, and Minority Rights Group International (MRGI), conducted a radio transmission campaign to strengthen community complaint and feedback mechanisms. The primary aim of the radio program was to ensure that vulnerable and marginalized communities understand MCAN’s role in receiving, responding to, and addressing their complaints, while also encouraging their participation in humanitarian and development programming through the LOOP platform.

The radio awareness sessions were broadcast through Dalbile Radio in Kismayo . MCAN field staff actively participated in the transmission, providing clear information on how communities can safely report concerns, submit feedback, and contribute to accountability processes. The initiative enhanced transparency, improved two-way communication, and strengthened trust between humanitarian actors and affected populations.
