November 2024: The heartbroken dog sat at the bridge. Her eyes filled with sadness and longing. Her tail hung low and her ears drooped . She missed her human dearly who had left her behind without a second thought. ​She​ couldn't understand why they had been abandoned her and it broke her heart to think that he may never see her beloved owner again. ​Despite the pain the dog remained loyal hoping that one day his human would return and shower her with love again. She had been waiting for 3 weeks. No one came to take her home. We took her to the shelter. We gave her medical treatment, food and a good bed. It was equally important to give her love. After a few weeks we see that she is finding the joy of life again. What she needs now is her own family who can give her what she deserves.

Felix is a friendly, sweet and playful little guy who loves to socialize with other dogs and explores the world with curiosity and a keen nose.
Felix has always been a good boy, ever since the day we brought him to the shelter from the street as a little 3 month old puppy.
He always does the right thing, even the things we haven't taught him, like walking nicely on a leash.
He is patient, polite and always considerate towards other dogs. Felix is a dog that can suit everyone. Both as a first-time dog and for those who are more experienced and want a working dog.

Soft has now left Turkey. He found his forever home

We first met Soft in February 2023. A young shepherd dog who was either abandoned or lost. We took him into our team of "street dogs" so that he received his regular meals and medical treatment when necessary. He did well with his girls Capri and Berny. When the girls were picked up by a private shelter in the summer of 2024, he was left alone. We gave him extra attention with him and gave him extra cuddles and treats. In October, we saw that he had stopped eating, so we took him to the vet. Soft had a tick-borne disease. He was given antibiotics. Since he also tested positive for leishmania, we chose to take him with us to the shelter. He is too good to continue his life as a street dog. Soft has no leishmania symptoms so we do not give him any treatment for it.
Soft is a big boy, but he is possibly our easiest dog in the shelter. He doesn't need much to be happy. A small garden where he can sit and watch life go by outside the fence.
Soft also appreciates a good walk. We have been training him to carry a dog backbag. Soft is a working dog so he appreciates being helpful, also carrying part of our load. He will get along well with other dogs, preferably with a female dog.
Let's not forget that Soft is a soft dog so he appreciates cuddles and love like other dogs do. Don't let his breed and size mislead you.

Lucky has been through a lot in her young life. After being caught in a fox trap, one of her front legs had to be amputated to save her life.
It took a while before someone found her and brought her to us. Poor Lucky was in shock. We spent a lot of time with her, but it wasn't until we introduced her to 2 of our shelter dogs that we were able to rekindle her spark. Today, Lucky is a healthy and happy dog, thanks to Soft the kangal and Bridget the pit bull.
Lucky thrives with other dogs, and they give her confidence. She copies behaviors, but can also be safe without another dog. It would have been wonderful for her to find a home where she has a canine friend or a neighbor's dog who likes to play with her.

Bridget's Story
Bridget had been dumped in the In the mountains by the Dim dam (Alanya/ Turkiye). Many people stop in this area because of the nice view of the dam. Every time a car stopped, Bridget thought it was the owner who wanted to pick her up. She ran towards all the cars with a happy tail, but backed away when she realized she was wrong. It was heartbreaking to see. They took her puppies away from her and threw her out like garbage.
We traveled to her every week with food and water, but after 3 weeks we decided to take her with us so we could help her off the street.

We saw that she was sick so we took her to the veterinarian. She has Leishmania, which would mean a slow death for her if we drove her back to the mountains. We found a place for her in the shelter and started the treatment against Leishmania. Fortunately, the medicine worked very well.
When we picked her up she was really upset. It was heartbreaking to see. We have given her a lot of attention, good food, and good walks. She is now a happy dog ​​just waiting for someone to take her home. Bridget has been with us since November 2024 so we know her well. We can recommend her also as a first time dog. She is smart, patient, loyal, and friendly. When she loves you she will never leave your side.
It's easy to fall in love with her. It's not as easy to take her home since Pitbull's are a banned breed in most European countries. That's why we are looking for a home for her in Sweden or Finland.
