Yesterday, the Tonga National Deaf Association Inc. (TNDA) held a policy training to strengthen our organisation and build a stronger foundation for our work and advocacy.

A heartfelt thank you to our participants, parents, Deaf members, and supporters who came and took part in this important training. Your presence and commitment mean so much to us.

We would also like to express our sincere gratitude to the Disability Rights Fund (DRF) for providing TNDA with this valuable opportunity to learn, grow, and strengthen our organisation.

The Tonga National Deaf Association (TNDA) continues to empower our Deaf community through learning about the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD).

This training helps build awareness of the rights of persons with disabilities, promotes inclusion, and reminds us that everyone deserves equal opportunities, access to information, education, and participation in society.

This Teachers’ Day in Tonga, one of our young Deaf children gave a special gift to Tanoa Tui, a true dedicated teacher for our young deaf kids 🎁❀️

Sometimes, the smallest gifts carry the biggest love. Our children may not express their gratitude through spoken words, but their hearts speak through their actions. πŸ€ŸπŸ’•

Every child deserves the opportunity to learn, communicate, and shine! 🌟

Twice a week, the Tonga National Deaf Association Inc. (TNDA) holds afternoon classes for our young Deaf children. These classes provide a safe and supportive space for our children to learn, develop their communication and sign language skills, build confidence, and connect with one another. πŸ’™

We believe that investing in our children today means building a more inclusive future for Tonga tomorrow. πŸ‡ΉπŸ‡΄

πŸ™ A heartfelt thank you to the Australian Government for investing in the education and future of our Deaf community, especially our young Deaf children.

🌿 CRPD Training – Empowering Our Deaf Community πŸ€ŸπŸ½πŸ’™

Yesterday, the Tonga National Deaf Association (TNDA) held a CRPD (Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities) training with members of our Deaf community.

It was a meaningful time of learning, sharing, and understanding our rights as persons with disabilities. Together, we continue to build awareness and encourage our Deaf community to know, understand, and speak up for their rights. 🀟🏽✨

Meet our youngest member Mele Talahiva Fine πŸ™‚

Mele join in with the deaf community in documenting our Tongan Sign Language and she had the whole class admiring her and her courage to explain her understanding of the words and signs that were presented. Its these kind of courage that keeps us going and wanting the best for our deaf community in Tonga.
