Today, we proudly celebrate the successful completion of the Sewing Training Programme by nine dedicated participants. Over the course of the training, these women demonstrated remarkable commitment, perseverance, and enthusiasm as they developed valuable sewing skills that will serve as a pathway to self-reliance, income generation, and personal growth.

We would also like to extend our sincere gratitude to our outstanding trainer, Mr. Unaloto Vaikimounga, whose expertise, patience, and dedication played a vital role in the success of this programme. His guidance and encouragement have inspired participants to build confidence in their abilities and strive for excellence throughout their training journey.

This programme represents more than the completion of a course; it is an investment in the future of these women, their families, and their communities. As they receive their certificates and take home their sewing machines today, they are equipped not only with practical skills but also with the tools needed to continue their sewing journey and create sustainable opportunities for themselves.

TNCWC is proud of the achievements of all nine participants and grateful to Australian Aid for making this opportunity possible. Together, we are empowering women, strengthening communities, and creating lasting positive change through education, skills development, and economic empowerment.

Congratulations to all our graduates on this significant achievement, and we wish them every success in their future sewing endeavors. Australia in Tonga

This accomplishment reflects not only their hard work and determination but also the quality of training and support provided through this partnership.

TNCWC is proud to celebrate the success of each trainee and acknowledges the invaluable contribution of Australian Aid and ATI in helping build pathways toward employment, entrepreneurship, and economic empowerment. Together, we are creating lasting change and stronger communities, and we look forward to continuing this successful partnership in the years ahead.

Life comes together one stitch at a time

They did not just show up to learn how to stitch pieces of material but instead they stitch them together as one people, one powerful group of women who know how to repair their future strongly using the skill of sewing.
Today their training comes to an end but it is a start of a new adventure that they spend the last two months working for.
Its amazing how these women shared their experiences and recognizing how a point of a needle can build a future strong as a brick.
Their outfit today indicate their progressively achievement of their goal transforming a humble fabric into a masterpiece with a top skill weaving strength, beauty and a brighter future for their family and community.
This will not be possible without the generous support of the people and Government of Australia in Tonga and the good leadership of their Instructor and Mentor, Mr Unaloto Vaikimounga a dedicated effort worth of acknowledging as he fight when it's tough and pave when it's rough.
A display of their Puletaha and Tupenu Fakafisi today shows just how eager these women are to assist their families and communities. They cannot wait to step out into the world to value their hard work and turn their incredible skills into a sustainable livelihood.

Empowring families through flavor

Even a very simple ingredients, they managed a very stunning and classy display of local dishes praised by Mrs Olivina Tuiono from the TNCWC Board of Directors, "the food has a refined and balanced flavor profile," said Mrs Olivina.
One of the participants was very excited to share how happy she is that she can provide delicious healthy meal for her family using only ingredients they can afford at home.
"With my new and improve skill i can add a new flavour to what my husband provide on the table. My family will enjoy a delicious meal which also serves as a sign of respect and appreciation for my husband's hard work as well," she said..
Yes, they totally aware how their skill can provide for themselves in-terms of economic assistant and live independently but these women still dedicate their effort on how they live in the Tongan Society. Using their skill to help with their religious responsibility, helping their community activity for example, wedding, birthdays and funeral, something they will offer their new skill without compensation as long they retain their value as Tongan Women.
With one more week left in the two months cooking training, these women shows efficient teamwork making the project a success by staying ahead of schedule. Finishing early will give them more times to polish their skills before their graduation.

Whats on the Menu;

- Grilled Fish
- Baked Fish
- Fresh Fish Salad
