The Social Development and Empowerment Center is a non-governmental organization founded in accordance with Tunisian law on associations (Law 154 of November 7, 1959, as amended by Act 90 of August 2, 1988 and by law 25 of April 2, 1992), it got the official visa in April 11, as a result of the transformations the country has witnessed in the aftermath of the revolution of dignity in the year
2011. The idea of establishing the Center can be traced back in the mid-nineties of the last century, but it was met with rejection all along the 15 last years, and could not materialize until after the revolution and the country´s progress towards building democracy. FR:
Le Centre de Développement Social et d´Autonomisation (SDEC) est une Organisation Non gouvernementale soumise au droit tunisien relatif aux associations (Loi 154 du 7 Novembre 1959, révisée par la loi 90 du 2 AoÛt 1988 puis par la loi 25 du 2 Avril 1992), Elle a obtenue le visa officiel le 11 Avril après les changements qu´a connus la Tunisie suite à la révolution de la dignité survenue en 2011. L´idée qui est à l´origine de la création de ce centre remonte aux années 1990, du siècle dernier. Cependant, elle a toujours fait objet de rejet systématique et ce, pendant 15 années successives. Il ne s´est, enfin, concrétisée qu´au lendemain de ladite révolution et de ce nouveau cheminement du pays vers la construction de la Démocratie.
