𝐀𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐨𝐫 𝐧𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭, 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐚 𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐢𝐧 𝐀𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐚 𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐩, 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐬.
Carries the weight of an entire community on her shoulders. As the only midwife at Atara Health Post in Ermera, she is always on standby-through the night, through exhaustion, through uncertainty.
She stands beside in their most fragile moments, refusing to leave them alone-because sometimes, her presence is the only thing standing between fear and hope, between life and loss.
But courage alone is not enough.
No midwife should have to do this alone. No mother should have to depend on chance.

In Marobo, Bobonaro, one midwife carries the responsibility of an entire community.
Stands alone but never steps back.
She faces multiple life-threatening cases at once, in a setting where resources are limited but courage is not. For many mothers, she is the difference between life and death-and the reason hope still exists.
When we invest in midwives and ensure their presence in rural areas, we are not just strengthening health systems-we are saving lives, protecting families, and securing the future.
