G-SIG is proud to collaborate with the 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵, received support from the Asia Pacific Malaria Elimination Network (APMEN) and the 𝗠𝗮𝗵𝗶𝗱𝗼𝗹 𝗢𝘅𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗱 𝗧𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘁 (𝗠𝗢𝗥𝗨) to facilitate a one-week training in Dili on the use of 𝗴𝗲𝗼𝘀𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗚𝗜𝗦 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 for staff from the Ministry of Health.
During the four-day training, our team facilitated participants in using and managing geospatial data through software such as QGIS to process and analyze data and to create thematic maps. In addition, we also guided participants in practical exercises on collecting geographic information using GNSS mobile applications, importing the data into QGIS, and conducting statistical and geospatial analysis.
At the end of the training, participants developed GIS-based thematic maps using health-related information and analyzed disease distribution patterns through well-designed thematic mapping. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to 𝗔𝗣𝗠𝗘𝗡 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗠𝗢𝗥𝗨 for their trust and support in this initiative.
