Amália Margaretha Lucas, alumna ida husi Escola Paroquial São Pedro iha turnu 2016, hasai ona nia estudu nivel lisensiatura iha área Medisina, Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) iha China Medical University, liu husi programa bolsa estudu husi Governu Xina, ne'ebe gradua iha Juñu 2023. Agora dadaun nia halao hela nia estudu nivel mestradu iha universidade ne'ebé hanesan, no mós hetan bolsa-estudu, no hein katak nia sei graduadu iha 2026.
Durante eskola sekundária, nia nu'udar membru ativu husi grupu siénsia no partisipa iha atividade estra-kurrikular oin-oin, hanesan voluntáriu iha Oratoriu Dom Bosco (2014-2016), Uma Amerika UNTL (2017), 3R Timor-Leste (2016), no Initiative for Peace (2016). Nia mós simu Access Micro-Scholarship Program (FYI13) husi 2014 to'o 2016.
Aleinde nivel akadémiku sira, Amalia hetan esperiénsia profisionál hanesan Promotor Vendedor iha Kompañia KONEKTO (2016-2017) no hanesan Fasilitador Projetu iha World Vision Timor-Leste (2020-2022). Iha tinan 2020, nia sai nudar manán nain daruak, ba fundu ne’ebe oferese husi Embaixada EUA, ba implementasaun Misaun Driven Alumni Outreach (MDAO) nian. Nia mós reprezenta Timor-Leste iha kompetisaun internasionál sira, inklui BIPA iha Indonezia (2017) no FYICGG iha Hungaria (2024), hatudu nia kompromisu ba excelensa akadémika no envolvimentu komunidade.

Meet our inspiring alumni of the month, whose journey continues to inspire us all!
Amália Margaretha Lucas, a 2016 alumna of São Pedro Senior High School, pursued a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) at China Medical University under a Chinese Government Scholarship, graduating in June 2023. She is currently pursuing her master’s degree at the same university, also on scholarship, and is expected to graduate in 2026.
During high school, she was an active member of the drum band and Grupo Siensia and participated in various extracurricular activities outside of school, such as volunteering at Oratory Dom Bosco (2014–2016), Uma Amerika UNTL (2017), 3R Timor-Leste (2016), and the Initiative for Peace (2016). She was also a recipient of the Access Micro-Scholarship Program (FYI’13) from 2014 to 2016.
Beyond academics, Amália gained professional experience as a Sales Promoter at Konekto Company (2016–2017) and as a Project Facilitator at World Vision Timor-Leste (2020–2022). In 2020, she won second place, granted by the U.S. Embassy, for implementing the Mission Driven Alumni Outreach (MDAO) seed funding. She also represented Timor-Leste in international competitions, including BIPA in Indonesia (2017) and FYICGG in Hungary (2024), demonstrating her commitment to academic excellence and community engagement.
