Towards Organic Asia Alliance is a strategic cooperation among Asian groups and organizations advocat

Towards Organic Asia (TOA) is a partner-driven network, managed by the coordinating team based on the School for Wellbeing, studies and research Secretariat Office in Bangkok, Thailand. TOA began as an initiative of Vandana Shiva, a leading environmental activist, to strengthen and move forward the existing movement of agroecology in Asia. Inspired by the Bhutanese’s “100 percent Organic Country”

policy and global movement of Gross National Happiness, the TOA Programme started in 2011, in collaboration with CCFD – Terre Solidaire, Thailand Green Market Network and Suan Nguen Mee Ma social enterprise. TOA envisions organic agriculture/agroecology as the means to strengthen the spirit of community, economic sufficiency, and care for the Earth. A holistic and integrated approach to organic agriculture/agroecology as not only a food production system, but that encompasses the interdependencies between agriculture and local cultures, self-sufficiency, sustainable livelihoods, climate resilience, food and seed sovereignty.

Towards Organic Asia and Foodthink cordially invite you to a documentary screening and discussion. This investigative documentary follows the trace of imported beef that penetrates into Tibet Plateau. With intensive interviews with Tibetan pastoralists, traders and consumers of different ethnicity around Qinghai Lake, the film vividly shows how industrial cattle production in Amazon affects traditional yak production in Tibet, and how lives of all stakeholders changed as a result.

Film tentative title: Whose Table and Whose Grassland (with English and Chinese subtitles)

An hour screening followed by a discussion in English with the film producer and food and environment activists from China and Thailand

มหกรรมพันธุกรรมพื้นบ้าน 2568 มาถึงแล้ว

เครือข่ายเกษตรกรรมทางเลือกและมูลนิธิเกษตรกรรมยั่งยืน (ประเทศไทย) ร่วมกับองค์กรภาคีต่าง ๆ จัดงานมหกรรมพันธุกรรมพื้นบ้านกันมาอย่างต่อเนื่อง จนกลายเป็นงานประจำปีที่พี่น้องเกษตรกรจาก 4 ภาค องค์กรพัฒนาเอกชน นักวิชาการ และผู้บริโภคได้มาแลกเปลี่ยนความรู้ แลกเปลี่ยนเมล็ดพันธุ์พืช ต้นกล้า และพันธุ์สัตว์ รวมถึงได้ติดตามสถานการณ์ทุกข์สุขของแต่ละพื้นที่ร่วมกัน

เหนืออื่นใด งานดังกล่าวยังให้ผลผลิตเป็นข้อเสนอแนะเชิงนโยบายที่ส่งผลต่อการเกษตร ความมั่นคงทางอาหาร และความหลากหลายทางชีวภาพ

ปีนี้เราจัดงานกันในวันที่ 23-24 มกราคม อันเป็นเดือนแรกของปี 2568 ต่างจากทุกปีที่เคยจัดในช่วงเดือนเมษายน-พฤษภาคม เนื่องด้วยการเปลี่ยนแปลงของสภาพภูมิอากาศที่ทำให้ช่วงเดือนของการจัดงานเดิมกลายเป็นช่วงเวลาที่ร้อนเกินกว่าจะจัดงานรวมคนในพื้นที่เปิดได้

นอกจากนั้น ความตั้งใจในปีนี้ของเราคือต้องการที่จะจัดงานมหกรรมพันธุกรรมพื้นบ้านให้อยู่ในช่วงเวลาของการเฉลิมฉลองข้าวใหม่ ซึ่งเครือข่ายเกษตรกรรมทางเลือกเพิ่งจัดงานเทศกาลข้าวใหม่ไปเมื่อปลายเดือนธันวาคม 2567 ที่ผ่านมา

มหกรรมพันธุกรรมพื้นบ้าน 2568 จัดภายใต้ธีม “Seed for future: คนรุ่นใหม่ เมล็ดพันธุ์แห่งอนาคตการเกษตร” เราให้ความสำคัญกับเกษตรกรรุ่นใหม่ เพราะในท่ามกลางเกษตรกรและคนทำงานพัฒนาในเครือข่ายที่เข้าสู่วัยสูงอายุตาม ๆ กันไป คนรุ่นใหม่จึงเปรียบเสมือน “เมล็ดพันธุ์แห่งอนาคตการเกษตร” ของระบบเกษตรกรรมยั่งยืน ที่ควรจะต้องสนับสนุนให้เจริญเติบโตยิ่งๆ ขึ้นต่อไป

ขอเชิญชวนร่วมงานได้ที่ศาลากลางจังหวัดยโสธร หรือติดตามงานผ่านการถ่ายทอดสด (Live) ทางเพจมูลนิธิเกษตรกรรมยั่งยืน
