In Memoriam: Mr. Hagen Dirksen
We are deeply saddened by the passing of Mr. Hagen Dirksen, a true friend and supporter of the arts in Chiang Mai.
Mr. Dirksen, together with his beloved wife Khun Tum, demonstrated an understanding and support for music that was both rare and profoundly meaningful in our cultural community. Their generosity and open-minded appreciation for classical music left a lasting impact that will not be forgotten.
We are especially grateful for Mr. Dirksen’s steadfast support of the Chiang Mai Philharmonic Orchestra Foundation, as well as his continued encouragement of the Chiang Mai Ginastera International Music Festival over the years. His belief in the power of music to connect people across cultures helped nurture artistic growth and inspired musicians, educators, and audiences alike.
Beyond his contributions, Mr. Dirksen will be remembered for his kindness, sincerity, and quiet dedication to fostering cultural dialogue in Chiang Mai. His legacy lives on in the music that continues to be performed and in the many lives he touched through his support.
May Mr. Hagen Dirksen rest in peace. We extend our heartfelt condolences to Khun Tum and to his family and close relatives. May they find strength, comfort, and healing during this time of profound loss.
