📚 From Mae Chaem to the World of Economics

Tulaya (“View”), who grew up in a Thai-Karen farming family in Mae Chaem District, Chiang Mai, is now a third-year Economics student at Maejo University. Through her studies and field experiences, she continues to expand both her knowledge and understanding of the world around her.

Recently, View had the opportunity to visit the Maruey Library and INVESTORY Investment Discovery Museum at the Stock Exchange of Thailand in Bangkok. There, she learned about finance, investment, risk management, and even experienced buying stocks for the first time — an exciting step into the world of economics and financial literacy.

At the same time, her university fieldwork brought her back into local communities to study daily life, occupations, and community resources. These experiences reminded her of her own upbringing in Mae Chaem and deepened her understanding of the importance of empathy, community, and human connection.

At Skills 4 Life Foundation, we believe education is not only about academic success, but also about preparing young people with the confidence, life skills, and real-world experiences needed to build a brighter future.

💪 Building Discipline, Leadership, and Future Opportunities

In Thailand, the Territorial Defense (ROTC) programme offers young people the chance to prepare for military service while continuing their education while building discipline, leadership, and a strong sense of responsibility along the way.

Sorn, a student at Skills 4 Life Foundation and currently studying Machine Tool Technology at Chiang Mai Technical College, is embracing this path. As a Territorial Defense cadet, he is gaining hands-on training and valuable life experience, including field training that challenges both body and mind.

Beyond the classroom, experiences like these help our students grow in resilience, confidence, and courage, shaping them into responsible young adults ready to contribute positively to society.

At Skills 4 Life Foundation we are proud to support students who strive to challenge themselves and build a strong future. 🇹🇭💙

🌱 Learning Beyond the Classroom

During the 2026 school break, students from the Skills 4 Life Foundation chose to make the most of their time off from the classroom and gaining real-world experience, building skills, and connecting with people beyond school.

Beam completed his automotive internship at a busy service center in Chiang Mai, gaining hands-on experience in the field he’s studying. Meanwhile, Sai brought smiles to customers at a soft-serve ice cream kiosk, and Namfon was working in a popular breakfast restaurant, learning service skills and even creating beautiful latte art.

Through these opportunities, our students are developing responsibility, discipline, and confidence and turning their free time into meaningful preparation for the future.

At Skills 4 Life Foundation, we believe that learning doesn’t stop when school does. 💙

😊 Learning with Laughter

We are grateful to welcome Rachel Picciano, a young engineer who chose to spend part of her vacation volunteering to teach conversational English for the students at Skills 4 Life Foundation.

Her weekly English conversation classes have been filled with energy, laughter, and encouragement and has been a great hands-on learning experience for all the participants. Through fun activities and everyday conversations, our students are building confidence and strengthening their communication skills step by step.

At Skills for Life Foundation, we believe education goes beyond the classroom and opportunities like this help our youth grow in confidence, connect with the world, and prepare for bright futures.

Thank you, Rachel, for sharing your time, knowledge, and heart with our students. 💙

🎓 Celebrating a Proud Achievement

Today, we are proud to celebrate Nuch, who has earned her Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from Rajamangala University of Technology Lanna (RMUTL), Chiang Mai.

Originally from the Karen community in Mae Chaem District, Nuch is the daughter of hardworking farmers who do not have the means to provide any help or support for her to attend higher education and escape the cycle of poverty.. Through dedication, perseverance, and strong peer support, Nuch has completed her university journey, an achievement that brings pride not only to her family, but to her entire community.

She has now begun working in Mae Chaem for a well-establish business and dreams of starting her own business in the future, with a vision to give back and create opportunity for others.

At the Skills 4 Life Foundation, we are honored to support students like Nuch and empowering them with education, confidence, and hope for a brighter tomorrow.

Good luck, Nuch, your journey is just beginning, and we believe in you! 💙

🗳️ Proud of Our Young Citizens: Thailand’s National Election Day

On February 8, 2026, several students under the care of the Skills 4 Life Foundation made long journeys back to their home villages to take part in Thailand’s National Election Day.

Holding Thai national ID cards, they proudly exercised their right to vote, a meaningful milestone and a powerful step in active citizenship. Despite the many hours of travel, they were grateful for the opportunity to visit their families and participate in this important democratic process.

At the Skills for Life Foundation, we not only provide education and life skills, but also encourage our youth to understand their civic responsibilities and engage as active members of society.

We are incredibly proud of their responsibility, determination, and strong sense of citizenship. 🇹🇭💙

🏃‍♂️ Bosch Charity Run 2026 — Forward Together

This year's annual Bosch Charity Run took place in the early morning on Feb 8 at beautiful Benjakitti Park in Bangkok, bringing together a vibrant community of runners and supporters united for a meaningful cause.

We are deeply grateful that the proceeds from this event will support our work with disenfranchised and disadvantaged youths and young adults. Representing the Foundation were Dominique Leutwiler, Founder and President, and April, Board Member.

Our sincere thanks to Khun Joseph and Khun Intira from Bosch Thailand for their generous support and continued partnership, we truly value our long-standing working relationship as we combine toward one shared mission: breaking the cycle of poverty and creating lasting opportunity.

Thank you to everyone who ran, supported, and made this impactful morning possible. 💙

🌟 A Proud Moment with Ning

On Thailand Children’s Day, January 10, 2026, Ning, a fourth-year English major at Chiang Mai Rajabhat University and a student under the care of the Skills 4 Life Foundation, took part in Nok Air’s CSR project while interning as Ground Service Staff at Chiang Mai International Airport.

Through joyful activities and gift-giving, she helped spread smiles and warmth to children, showing kindness, professionalism, and a true spirit of giving back. From growing up in northern Thailand to stepping confidently into her career, Ning’s journey reflects what opportunity and support can make possible.

Well done, Ning, you are an inspiration to many young people walking toward their dreams. 💙
