ท่ามกลางการเปลี่ยนแปลงของภูมิทัศน์ทางสังคม วัฒนธรรม และความเป็นเมืองในภูมิภาคลุ่มน้ำโขง ศิลปะร่วมสมัยไม่ได้เป็นเพียงพื้นที่ของการสร้างสรรค์ หากยังเป็นเครื่องมือในการทำความเข้าใจความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างผู้คน พื้นที่ และการเปลี่ยนผ่านของชุมชน
การเสวนาครั้งนี้นำเสนอประสบการณ์ของศิลปินและผู้สร้างพื้นที่สร้างสรรค์ในจังหวัดนครพนม เพื่อสะท้อนบทบาทของศิลปะในการเชื่อมโยงชุมชน การสร้างพื้นที่ทางวัฒนธรรม และการพัฒนาระบบนิเวศทางศิลปะในระดับท้องถิ่น ขณะเดียวกันยังเปิดโอกาสให้นักเรียนและเยาวชนได้มองเห็นว่าบ้านเกิดของตนเองมีศิลปิน มีพื้นที่สร้างสรรค์ และมีเครือข่ายทางวัฒนธรรมที่สามารถเป็นแรงบันดาลใจและต่อยอดสู่เส้นทางวิชาชีพด้านศิลปะและอุตสาหกรรมสร้างสรรค์ในอนาคต

As part of the Mekong River Basin Contemporary Art Festival Project 2026, GMS EXCHANGE: Art Dialogue #1 brings together artists, cultural practitioners, students, and local communities in an open conversation on contemporary art and regional creative practice.
Bringing together participating artists, local contemporary art practitioners, and young audiences, the dialogue explores how creative practices rooted in local contexts can foster knowledge exchange, strengthen cultural networks, and inspire future generations to see their hometowns as places of creative possibility.
Equally important, the event seeks to inspire local students and young people by demonstrating that meaningful creative spaces, practicing artists, and cultural initiatives already exist within their hometowns. By making these local creative ecosystems more visible, the dialogue encourages young audiences to imagine art and culture not only as forms of expression but also as viable pathways for education, professional development, and future careers.
