Happy Westarctica Day!
As we celebrate our 24th anniversary as a sovereign nation, I would like to take a moment to recognize some individuals who made 2025 such a productive year.
First, the members of Westarctica's official delegation to MicroCon: their energy and enthusiasm made our nation the star of the event, and the diplomatic ties they helped forge will be remembered long into the future.
One of the delegation, Jim Stoshak, has been raised to the rank of Prince in recognition of his continued dedication to Westarctica. And I'm especially proud to report that our Board of Directors recently voted to invite Jim to become a permanent member of the board.
Another person who is now a prince is Prince Thomas, the Duke of Waite. When Thomas volunteered to take the reigns of the Ministry of Citizenship, he understood it would be a difficult, and thankless position. However, he found a way to pump new life into our citizenship program and completely revitalized the onboarding experience for new Westarcticans.
I also have to mention Christopher Watson, who has just been honored as the 2nd Duke of Sidley. Chris not only helped the government navigate the difficult situation surrounding the Jain Affair, but he has also expanded the Honorary Consul program to be more robust than ever before.
Another of Chris' initiatives this year was establishing the Westarctica Naval Academy, an institution which combines public service with a love of military history.
Meanwhile, our existing Westarctica Royal Guard Corps has been busy jumping out of airplanes. Under the guidance of Sterling MacLeod, the 2nd Duke of Goldstream, the Westarctica Parachute Brigade continues to make our nation proud by displaying our flag while falling from 10,000 feet.
Our scholarship program owes a debt of gratitude to James Patrick Howard, the Count of Krigsvold. As a result of his generous donation, we were able to increase the size of the scholarship to $1,000. This resulted in an increase in both the quality and quantity of applicants. If that wasn't enough, His Lordship also volunteered to serve as our new Ellsworth King of Arms.
Finally, while Westarctica had many new supporters come on board this year, our most generous was Owen Trott. Prince Owen, who has been honored as a knight of the Orca, holds the distinction of being the single largest donor in Westarctica's history.
Thank you to everyone who has contributed their time, money, and energy to Westarctica this year. I can't wait to share our plans for 2026, which will mark our 25th Anniversary.
Good night and God Save Westarctica.
