The severe floods across Bangkok and surrounding areas have affected so many people, homes and communities over the past few days. And alongside them, so many animals and the people caring for them have been affected too. 🤍🐾

There are many people and organisations needing support right now, but I wanted to highlight one I know personally, Dog Rescue Thailand.

I’ve visited them before and seen the work they do for street and rescue dogs. They care for a huge number of dogs who rely on them every single day, and times like this put even more pressure on shelters already working incredibly hard.

If you’re in a position to help, please have a look at . Their page has information on how you can support, donate or simply share what they’re doing.

There are many worthy places needing help right now. This is just one that I know and wanted to put on a few more people’s radar. 🤍

Please share if you can. 🐾

🚨 URGENT: PLEASE HELP FIND ROCKY 🐾

Resharing from original post :
Rocky is a young male dog, around 1.5 years old, from the Santithani / Bang Por area of Koh Samui.

We believe he was taken away from his home and abandoned somewhere unfamiliar yesterday. We currently have no idea where he was left.

Some of you may remember Rocky from a few weeks ago when he went missing around Bang Por / Santithani and eventually found his way home.

During that time, he found our restaurant. We fed him, he made friends with our dogs and after that he started visiting almost every day. ❤️

We stayed in contact with his owner, who recently told us he intended to take Rocky somewhere else and leave him there.

Yesterday, it appears this happened. Since then, the owner has stopped responding to our calls and messages.

Our biggest concern is that Rocky may now be somewhere completely unfamiliar and trying to find his way home.

🐶 ROCKY
• Male, approximately 1.5 years old
• From Santithani / Bang Por
• Grey collar that is slightly too big and hangs down
• Not neutered
• Young and energetic
• Can be reactive around some male dogs

⚠️ If you see him, please do not put yourself or another dog at risk trying to catch him.

Instead:

📍 Send the exact location
📸 Take a photo or video if possible
📞 Contact NK Davison immediately: +66 64 024 1597

🙏 PLEASE SHARE, especially with anyone around Koh Samui.

Even one sighting could help us work out where Rocky was left and get him somewhere safe.

He didn’t choose to be abandoned. Right now, he may have no idea where he is or how to get home.

Please help us find Rocky. 🐾💔

This may not look huge to some...

but the souls in this compound are very very timid
and wouldn’t formely come out for attention off anyone when new people were in the compound, let alone this close

Patience, time, technique, understanding, trust building 🤍
Great work Nikki & team with their endless curiosity & dedication to support their dogs to thrive whilst in shelter care and then preparing for forever homes 🙌🏻🤍

Most people tarnish these dogs with “oh they are just like that”
“Keeping going in and out, they will get over it soon”

Nope... not that simple in this case 🤍

What are your thoughts on dogs feeling timing, anxious, afraid? And how do you support them to thrive?

Stay tuned for more!😀

There are so many dogs sitting in shelters right now who don’t need fixing.

They don’t need saving because they’re “broken.”

They simply need someone to give them a chance.

Peter Dinklage adopted his own dog, Kevin, from rescue and has continued to use his platform to advocate for shelter dogs and speak out against puppy mills and irresponsible mass breeding.

Thank you for highlighting this.

And this is something I wish more people understood:

Dogs end up in shelters for hundreds of reasons.

A family moves.
Someone becomes ill.
Finances change.
Relationships end.
A dog is born on the street.
A puppy grows into an adult that someone wasn’t prepared for.

And sometimes, humans simply let them down.

None of that tells you who that dog is.

Working with rescue and street dogs has taught me that some of the most incredible companions are the ones people might walk straight past.

The nervous one at the back of the kennel.

The scruffy one who isn’t a particular breed.

The adult dog who doesn’t have the instant appeal of a puppy.

The one who needs a little more time before showing you who they really are.

Of course, adoption isn’t right for every person or every situation, and responsible breeding is a very different conversation from mass breeding and puppy mills.

But if what you’re looking for is companionship, connection and a dog to share your life with, it’s worth looking at who is already waiting.

You might be surprised by who you find. 🐾

And a thank you to Dog Journal for highlighting Peter Dinklage’s story and keeping this conversation going.

Because visibility matters.

The more people see shelter dogs for who they actually are, rather than the story attached to where they came from, the more chances we give them.

Adopt when you can. Foster when you can. Support when you can. And please, choose responsibly.

What do you think actually influences people most when choosing a dog? Breed, appearance, upbringing, or simply meeting the right dog?

There’s a kind of dedication that doesn’t make headlines. It’s in the early mornings, the repeat exercises, the countless small adjustments that slowly build trust.

People who show up for training do more than teach skills, they invest in the lives of dogs who’ve known little consistency. They bring patience, care, and quiet commitment every single day, even when the progress feels invisible.

Working alongside teams like and learning through under reminds us that every moment spent teaching, guiding, and encouraging is a gift to these dogs and a testament to human kindness.

To everyone giving their time, energy, and heart to help rebuild confidence, thank you. And if you’d like to be part of this journey through adoption, fostering, volunteering, or supporting the link in bio is always open 🤍🐾
