The August KSDC Monthly Newsletter is now available. Please join us in honoring the life and legacy of our Coordinator, Aung Sun Myint Steven. Aung Sun Myint co-founded KSDC in 2002 with fellow graduates of EarthRights School Burma. His sudden passing on the 30th of August has shocked us all. He was a lion of a man. The best way we know to honor him is to continue his mission to educate the future leaders of the Karenni community. - https://mailchi.mp/113da1719d6e/ksdc-monthly-newsletter-10349598

Mr. Aung San Myint, who opened the Karenni Social Development Center (KSDC), was both the founder and a leader of the organization. He attended the EarthRights International (EarthRights School Burma - ERSB) training program in Chiang Mai, Thailand, in 1999, and subsequently founded KSDC in 2002.
Since its establishment up to 2026, the school has successfully conducted 25 batches, graduating over 800 students. Following their completion of the program, many of these graduates are actively contributing back to their communities within various community-based organizations.
Mr. Aung San Myint passed away due to age-related illness on August 30, 2026. It is truly believed that he founded this institution with goodwill, passion, and self-sacrifice, aiming to provide the essential knowledge and skills needed for the community and society.
All teachers and students of the Karenni Social Development Center owe deep gratitude to his dedication and leadership. We share our heartfelt condolences with his remaining family and pray for his soul to rest in peace.
