Today, EEWUD had the privilege of engaging with the newly established Tshalimbewu Farmers Multipurpose Cooperative at Madzanga in a productive session focused on sustainable water management within the Komati River Basin.
The session provided a valuable platform to deliberate on key issues affecting water users, including:
π Water allocation processes.
π Renewal and compliance with water permits.
π Strengthening understanding of water governance and regulations.
π Promoting responsible and sustainable water use practices.
The organization got the opportunity to emphasize its role as the authorised custodian to enforce compliance and water use monitoring within the Komati River Basin, highlighting the importance of compliance and collective responsibility in safe guarding this vital resource.
The engagement also allowed farmers to raise their concerns, share experiences and seek clarity, reinforcing the organization's commitment to transparency, collaboration and stakeholder inclusive in water resource management.
