WEEKEND BLESSINGS @ IMC...

I joined the Independent Methodist Church Manzini Circuit for a Sunday fellowship and fundraising drive aimed at procuring materials to keep the church running smoothly.

I grew up at IMC and for me it was homecoming. It was good to see how the church has grown over the years, while maintaining that unuque culture of mass roof-raising praise and worship when other churches rely on mic supported church choirs. Disaster strikes when there is a sudden electricity blackout.

Most importantly, I was impressed to see how the church has embraced religious inclusivity, This was demonstrated by the presence of two zionist sects who were part of the event and contributed meaningfully to the fundraising drive. For the crybaby that I am, this drew a few teardrops.

My speech touched on the following:
* The importance of religious inclusivity
* The role played by the church in crime-prevention and general social welfare of the people
* The need for the church to become economically active for self-sustenance and so as not to be used as a vehicle for money-laundering.
* I made a commitment to help IMC form a business trust that would help create jobs and in due course this would impact offerings.

'PHUNGINDLALA: RESTORING DIGNITY' PROGRAM BRINGS SMILES TO THREE ELDERLY PEOPLE

Three elderly people from Mantabeni and Siphocosini went out shopping with Indvuna yeNkhundla Wilton Jazi Mamba earlier today.

After buying a few groceries, the group, which included Gogo Dlamini of Siphocosini and two elderly men Babe David Masuku and Babe Kunene of Mantabeni, then had a sumptuous meal at Galitos before returning home.

"I'm grateful to Jaziland Foundation for availing the resources that drive our Phungindlala Program. Our aim is to inspire good neighbourliness among our people. I pray for a time when we can all live together peacefully and celebrate each other's prosperity," said Mamba.

JAZILAND KNOCKOUT KICKS OFF FEBRUARY 28

THE JAZILAND Sigangeni Promotion Knockout tournament will kick off on February 28th at Sigangeni Sports Ground. The games have been slated to take place on the same day as this month's Sports Business Festival also sponsored by Jaziland Foundation. The announcement was made by Hhohho Regional Football Association (HRFA) Chairman Dr Comfort Shongwe at Sigwaca house last Friday. The Chairman was joined by some of his executive members as well as the Chairman of the Sigangeni Promotion League Vusi Mamba. Also present was Jaziland Foundation Chairman Wilton Jazi Mamba, who is also Indvuna yeNkhundla of Siphocosini. Sigangeni League Secretary Boy Sihlongonyane explained that the tournament would be played in a round-robin format in the preliminaries, where the 12 teams would be arranged into four groups of three teams. The group winners would then move into the quarters finals, where the knockout would start. "It is important that the teams enjoy more game time as this will benefit the players. That is why we decided to start on a round-robin format and move to a knockout format at a later stage," said Sihlongonyane. Chairman of Jaziland Foundation Mamba expressed gratitude to the HRFA and Sigangeni League for the partnership. "We are grateful for the opportunity to contribute in growing sport into an economic activity in the Kingdom. Without these partners, our ambition would be a pipe dream," he said.

GOGO VILAKATI (94) OPENS HER HUMBLE HOME TO US

The Phungindlala: Restoring Dignity Program (PRD) visited Gogo Vilalati kuMvambi, Siphocosini, on Friday, and she was very excited to host us, albeit for just 30 minutes.

"We had heard that gogo was unwell. Though she is well-taken care off by her 74-year-old daughter, the family struggles to take her to hospital as she is now completely blind. While she remains physically strong and can still cover long distances on foot, she is impeded by her lack of vision and needs a guide.

As per custom, Indvuna yeNkhundla's Phungindlala : Restoring Dignity initiative blessed Gogo Vilakati with food parcels. Indvuna also made an undertaking to provide transport for her each time she has to see the doctor.

PHUNGINDLALA: RESTORING DIGNITY (PRD) PROGRAM TAKES OFF

FOLLOWING the successful hosting of the 7th Sport Business Festival on New year's day, Indvuna yeNkhundla Jazi Mamba has launched 'Phungindlala: Restoring Dignity' (PRD) to benefit the underprivileged.

"It has always bothered me that when we celebrate - be it the dawn of a new year, a sport activity or any form of entertainment - we do not seem to remember those who cannot celebrate with us. The 'Phungindlala: Restoring Dignity' initiative seeks to bridge that gap," said Mamba as he handed a blanket, clothes and food to a Kaunda family at Mantabeni earlier today.

The program's sole objective is to restore dignity, where poverty, ill health and loss of life has caused damage. "We want to provide solutions to social problems by eliminating poverty, which causes hunger, destroys families and leads to dysfunctional societies, ravaged by crime and other social ills," said Mamba.

PRD took off at the home of Star who suffer from mental illness after sustaining injuries in a car accident in his youth.
