International Peace Day 2025:
Women and the needy are Agents of Peace and Pillars of Sustainable Development As the world observes the International Day of Peace 2025, men’s alliance for women and the needy has joined global voices to emphasize the critical role of women and the needy in promoting peace and driving sustainable development.
This year’s theme, “Women and the needy for Peace and Pillars for Sustainable Development,” serves as a reminder that women and the needy are not only victims in times of conflict but also powerful leaders, mediators, and builders of inclusive societies.
Speaking on this day, kharim Justin makasi, Executive director of mens alliance for women and the needy, stated: “Lasting peace cannot be achieved if women and the needy are excluded.
When women and the needy are empowered to participate in peace processes, negotiations become stronger, societies heal faster, and development is more sustainable.”Globally and locally, women and the needy continue to shape communities through education, healthcare, and grassroots leadership.
Their voices are vital in addressing inequality, preventing conflict, and advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Men's alliance for women and the needy calls upon governments, civil society, and international partners to strengthen women’s and the needy participation in leadership and decision-making, ensure equal access to resources, and protect the rights of women, needy and girls.
On this Peace Day, Men's alliance for women and the needy reaffirms its commitment to building a society where women’s and the needy contributions are fully recognized, and peace is nurtured through justice, equality, and solidarity.
Peace is everyone’s responsibility—but women and the needy are the heart that sustains it.
