WBG GOVERNMENT PAYS FINAL RESPECTS TO THE LATE HON. BAPTIST SEBIT FRANCIS

Wau | WBGS Home News – December 12, 2025
The Government of Western Bahr el Ghazal State, led by H.E. Maj. Gen. Sharif Daniel Sharif, the Governor, has paid its final respects to the late Hon. Baptist Sebit Francis, who passed away earlier this week in Juba. Senior state officials joined the Governor in viewing the body upon its arrival in Wau, marking a solemn moment of collective mourning.
Governor Sharif described the passing of Hon. Sebit as “a great loss” to the state and to the Republic of South Sudan at large. He urged the family, relatives, and loved ones to remain united and strong during this painful and challenging time, noting that the late Sebit’s contributions to the state will be remembered with deep respect.
Hundreds of citizens, family members, and community leaders accompanied the body from Wau Airport to the General Secretariat Headquarters, where government officials, friends, and colleagues gathered to offer their condolences and honor his legacy.
The late Hon. Baptist Sebit Francis is expected to be laid to rest this evening at the new cemetery along Raja Road, where the community will gather for the final burial rites.
