ABOUT COLLABORATION OF TONJ YOUTH UNION WITH TONJ SUPER-LEAGUE INITIATORS
On the recent, there came up some sons of Tonj who are football enthusiasts —with an idea of having a league that would be played amongst some blended-up team which would randomly be formed from the various Tonj players. These teams will play in what is correctly named, "Tonj Super-League."
A month ago, the initiators were drawing strategies and, at the same time, collecting data on what and how to make the League a success. This process brought together interested individuals within Tonj and some other few leaders who love anything that brings people together. As the organization was drawing near conclusion, our Chairman Mr. Madut Gabriel heard of it and was impressed with the idea and promised to collaborate with the organizers—he therefore pledged to contribute money and buy some jerseys for players.
On the 17th of June, yesterday, of course, Tonj Youth Union, under the leadership of Molana Madut Gabriel, and his secretary of Culture &Sport, Deng Malek Akech fulfilled the promise. Below are the pictures taken on the day of delivery —made by the deputy chairman, Mr. William Teng Chol Chirillo and Sport secretary, Deng Malek. In the picture is Mr. Teng and Deng Malek presenting two sets of jerseys with their socks. Also, Tonj Youth Union provided the security approval letter, hired the pitch, and gave 500,000 South Sudanese pound to the organizers ahead of the first match to be played at Buluk playground.
This league is now at the verge of starting and it surely gonna be a beautiful kinda thing to be done in the name of peace and harmony to our people in Juba as a demonstration of, "We are one Tonj" this helps in raising the consciousness and awareness of our people back home that Tonj isn't divided into sad faced sections who see themselves as enemies, but made up of one people who share things in common, people who laugh and cry together.
Let's continue to initiate things that bring us together. Thank you to the organizers of Tonj Super League and a word of thank too, to our peace loving, development oriented Chairman, Molana Madut Gabriel.
