South Sudan Writers Forum (SSWF)

The South Sudan Writers Forum (SSWF) is a non-profit, non-political literary platform established to unite writers, poets, authors, researchers, and storytellers of South Sudan both at home and in the diaspora. The forum exists to nurture creative expression, preserve cultural identity, and promote literature as a powerful tool for education, peacebuilding, and national development.

SSWF provides a safe and inclusive space where writers can share ideas, develop their skills, and collectively raise the voice of South Sudan through the written word. In a country shaped by rich oral traditions and a challenging history, SSWF seeks to transform stories, experiences, and knowledge into written works that inform, inspire, and empower current and future generations.

Through mentorship, publications, workshops, literary events, and advocacy, the forum aims to strengthen the writing culture in South Sudan and connect local writers with regional and international literary communities. SSWF believes that writers are custodians of truth, memory, and imagination, and that literature plays a critical role in shaping national consciousness, promoting unity in diversity, and encouraging social change.
