🌍 Inspiring Leadership in Action | Education & Empower South Sudan
We proudly recognize Mrs. Elizabeth Aguil Tong for delivering a deeply powerful and thought-provoking speech at Harvard University, Boston, USA.
Her message transcended borders—rooted in her South Sudanese identity and shaped by her experience growing up in an intertribal family. She reminded the world that diversity is not a weakness, but a strength that can unite communities when guided by responsible leadership.
Mrs. Elizabeth highlighted a critical truth: leadership decisions are never distant—they reach into homes, shaping the lives of families and determining the futures of children. She courageously addressed how economic hardship and poor governance often force painful choices, where education—especially for the girl child—is sacrificed.
At the heart of her speech was a powerful moral question: Would leaders make the same decisions if their own children had to bear the consequences?
She called for a world where:
Children are recognized as central stakeholders in the future
Leadership is guided by empathy and accountability
No child’s suffering is ignored, regardless of geography
Drawing from psychology, she reminded us that true humanity lies in our ability to expand our circle of concern—to care not only for those close to us, but for all people, everywhere.
Her message is clear:
The future of any nation depends on how it values, protects, and invests in its children.
As Education & Empower South Sudan, we celebrate her voice, her courage, and her vision. She represents the kind of leadership our world needs—compassionate, thoughtful, and driven by purpose.
👏 We extend our heartfelt admiration and wish her continued wisdom, strength, and success on her inspiring journey.
