Darfurian Christian Assembly (DCA) – Constitution
_Preamble_
We, the believers of Darfur, united in Christ, establish this Constitution to govern the Darfurian Christian Assembly (DCA), founded 8 December 2023 under Pastor Elbager Mohamed. Our purpose is to proclaim the Gospel to the unreached of Darfur, make disciples, and build a Christ‑centered community.
1. Name & Status
- Name:Darfurian Christian Assembly (DCA) – also known as “Darfur Church.”
- Nature: Non‑denominational, evangelical, registered as a religious organization in South Sudan (pending formal registration in Sudan).
2. Statement of Faith
1. The Bible is the inspired, infallible Word of God.
2. One God eternally exists in three persons: Father, Son, Holy Spirit.
3. Salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone.
4. The Great Commission (Mark 16:15) compels us to evangelize.
5. The Holy Spirit empowers worship, prayer, and service.
6. Christ will return in glory.
3. Objectives
- Evangelism: Reach unreached Darfurian communities with the Gospel.
- Discipleship: Provide biblical teaching and leadership training.
- Compassion:Support orphans, widows, and needy believers through income‑generating projects, education, and vocational institutes.
- Church Planting: Establish local congregations throughout Darfur and diaspora.
- Legal Status:Secure formal registration with relevant authorities.
4. Governance
Body Composition Key Duties
General Assembly All active members
Highest authority; approves constitution, budget, major projects, elects officers. Meets annually (or as needed).
Pastor’s Office Pastor (Elbager Mohamed) and appointed associate pastors Oversees spiritual direction, worship, and day‑to‑day ministry.
Spiritual Committee 5–7 members elected by General Assembly (including at least one elder, one youth, one woman) Handles doctrinal matters, counseling, and technical church operations.
Board of Trustees (optional) 3–5 members (including treasurer) Manages property, finances, and legal compliance.
- Elections:Officers elected by secret ballot for a three‑year term, renewable once.
- Quorum: 50 % of members for General Assembly; 2/3 for constitutional amendments.
5. Membership
- Qualifications:Personal testimony of faith, water baptism, completion of discipleship program, commitment to Christian conduct, and regular tithes/offerings.
- Process:Application → interview with Spiritual Committee → approval by General Assembly → issuance of membership card and baptism certificate.
- Rights:
- Access to all church services and resources.
- Vote and stand for election.
- Receive baptism certificate and membership card.
- Duties:
- Attend worship and fellowship.
- Support church financially (tithes, offerings).
- Participate in ministry activities.
- Termination:Resignation, doctrinal deviation, or conduct contrary to biblical standards, after fair hearing by Spiritual Committee.
6. Finances
- Sources:Tithes, offerings, donations, income‑generating projects, grants.
- Accountability:Treasurer maintains books; annual audit presented to General Assembly.
- Use of Funds:Ministry, education, compassion projects, administration (max 15 % of total income).
7. Ministries
- Sunday Worship: Weekly gathering for praise, preaching, and fellowship.
- Bible School:Structured theological and training.
- Outreach Teams:Mobile evangelistic units to remote villages.
- Compassion Arm: Orphan care, vocational training, micro‑enterprise support.
8. Amendments
- Proposal by at least 10 % of members or by Spiritual Committee.
- Requires 2/3 vote of General Assembly, with notice given 30 days in advance.
9. Dissolution
- Decision by 3/4 vote of General Assembly.
- Remaining assets transferred to a like‑minded Christian organization, as determined by General Assembly.
